Among those who have had surgery to lift the columella, has anyone had surgery using a method that does not involve a columellar incision and inserting silicone or something else, but instead lifts it with sutures through an internal incision inside the nose, without a columellar incision?
I’m now over 4 months out, and I’m going crazy because of the side effects. Originally, my columella drooped and my nostril wings were wide. I only wanted alar reduction, but they said if I only did the reduction, since my columella was droopy, it would become a pinched nose... They said it was a simple surgery, so in the end I had the surgery by the method they recommended.. But maybe they lifted the columella too much; even now, 4 months later, my columella is hard. My columella pulls. My philtrum pulls. It is pulled so tightly that there is no looseness at all where the columella and philtrum begin, and because the upper lip area is lifted, as a result a callus-like hardened area has formed on one side of my chin too.. I couldn’t bear it, so when I reached 3 months I had the sutures removed, but now, more than a month and a half after removal, the feeling is exactly the same.. My nose has not come down either. I know I still need to wait longer, but.. I don’t feel even the slightest improvement..
They say it’s because of scar tissue, but I don’t think it’s simply the effect of scar tissue; the columella has been raised too much compared with my original nose, and I seem to have various side effects.. When I look at my nose in the mirror, the lower part of the columella is visible below the nasal line.. The hospital says to start counting again after removal and wait 6 months... What should I do about this... It is not a new contracture caused by the removal surgery; that has already almost passed.. That feeling was different..
This discomfort has been there continuously since the first surgery. It feels as if someone is pinching my nose, forcibly lifting it upward and pulling it, with an unpleasant tightness, hardness, and stiff aching pain, and it feels like it isn’t my own nose. Oh, and sometimes there is a clicking sound from my nose.. I don’t know what the problem is..
If I had known about this community before surgery, I wouldn’t have had the surgery. I regret it so much.. If only my nasal function returns to normal, I wouldn’t want anything else, to the point that side effects like nostril asymmetry or scars would not even be grounds for complaint... Among people who had a similar surgery to mine, is there anyone who experienced this and returned to normal.. Or did the side effects continue.. I’m worried because the surgical method is a special case that other hospitals don’t do.. Is it even possible to return to normal..
