My inner double eyelids were so thin they were practically monolids, so after a lot of thought I finally got double eyelid surgery When I opened my eyes, the double-eyelid line was barely visible, so even when doing makeup there were more limits than I expected for things like eyeliner and shading.
I happened to see a double-eyelid surgery review on YouTube and it was so pretty that I started looking around and found the hospital. After reading the reviews, I saw a lot of cases where the line wasn’t too thick and came out naturally, so I went for a consultation too.
During the consultation, they said my eyes were the type where the inner double fold is almost not visible, so instead of making it too thick, it would be better to make it natural to match my original eye shape. They didn’t separately recommend any other procedures like canthoplasty or eye correction, so I only had natural adhesion.
Right before surgery, I talked with the director once more, and even then I was still seriously debating whether to get canthoplasty too. But the director didn’t really recommend it. I was a little disappointed at the time, but seeing the result now, I think it was right not to do it lol.
It’s been about 2 to 3 weeks since surgery, and even though I only got double eyelid surgery, my eyes became so much bigger and the line is so clear that I like it. There’s still some minor swelling left, but the major swelling and bruising are all gone, and the line is settling in more naturally than I expected.
My eyes used to look almost like monolids, so just having a double eyelid makes my eye shape feel much clearer, and makeup is definitely easier now. Even though I only had natural adhesion, the eye shape and overall impression changed quite a bit, so I feel like I made the right choice lol.
It’s still only week 2 to 3, so I probably need to let it settle a bit more, but I hope the remaining minor swelling goes down soon too
