First of all, this is absolutely not a post recommending nose surgery, just my own experience!! So if you are planning surgery, use it as a reference! First, this was my first nose surgery, and there was a lot to coordinate, so I think I spent about half a year just going to consultations. Nose - wanted to fix nostrils that show from the side + wanted a natural line (slender but rounded tip) Since it was my first surgery, I looked into non-implant options that would be natural and use relatively less material, but every place I consulted ended up talking about autologous costal cartilage, so after researching I eventually had it done at a costal-cartilage hospital (PNS)! + For reference, my style is usually pretty easygoing, so I only went to consult at places that would make it look natural!! At this hospital they did an autologous costal cartilage check to see what condition it was in and how my appearance would change after surgery. The consultation was so detailed that it took over 40 minutes. It was the first time I had ever spent that long in a consultation. My nose was wide (I actually also had alar reduction), so the front view was important, and they looked at the front view just as carefully as the side view, so if you care a lot about the front view like I do, it is worth going. They also showed me predicted images, but maybe because of the issues with my original nose?? I was not sure the simulation image itself was very pretty.... But the progress photos included the nose shape I wanted, and overall it looked pretty to me, so I ended up having the final surgery here too. My nasal tip feels very slightly more lifted, and each week I can see the shape settling in, so if there are no problems I think it will settle even better. The donor site where they took the cartilage is in a line that is easy to cover and is barely noticeable, so honestly I did not pay that much attention to it, but people around me said it was really tiny when they saw it haha. One useful tip: if you are getting nose surgery, prepare a straw in advance!!!! After surgery I was so worried about bumping my nose that I could not even lift it casually, and if I bent my head down I felt a slight pull, which I hated, so I used a straw. Just using a straw was better for my mental health haha.,, it does not have any other effect. Anyway, I hope everyone gets a pretty nose, and I wrote more than I expected, but if I have anything else to add, I will keep adding it later!!
