Before/after I was usually bothered by my 45-degree cheekbones, so I looked for a place with a doctor who had a good background and good reviews, and had facial contouring surgery at The Standard of Contouring on September 28. Even on the day of surgery, when there was swelling, my 45-degree cheekbones were visibly smallerㅎㅎ After surgery, my left eyebrow wouldn’t move, but after about 8 hours, the discomfort went away. Until week 1, I couldn’t open my mouth, so I ate soft foods like porridge or steamed eggs, or cut regular food into very small pieces to eat. Day 5 was when the bruising and swelling under the eyes and around the cheeks came up the most. Around day 10, the bruises changed to yellow, and they were covered reasonably well with makeup. Up to week 2, a little bruising remained around the cheeks, and the swelling was about the level of having had a wisdom tooth removed. Up to week 3, I felt stiffness in the cheekbones, and because the cheekbone size was reduced, there’s an effect where my eyes look a little bigger. By week 4, I could open my mouth without strain enough to eat everything except meat or large foods. The major swelling has gone down enough that I can feel the pins near the sideburn area, but the cheek swelling hasn’t gone down, so the cheeks look relatively hollow. The temple swelling hasn’t gone down either, but I’m not worried because it will keep going down.
