Hi, I had implantable contact lens surgery in Seomyeon, Busan.
I chose implantable contact lens surgery because my corneas are too thin, and this seems genetic. My family, my parents + cousins on my father’s side, all had the same thing done at the same clinic.
Before implantable contact lens surgery, I used - orthokeratology lenses when I was young - daily disposable contact lenses after becoming an adult Sometimes my skin had an allergic reaction to lens solution, so the skin around my eyes was always flaky. So after getting implantable contact lens surgery, it’s so convenient not having to worry about my eyesight~
These aren’t side effects, but they are things you inevitably have to take into account if you get implantable contact lens surgery: - Night driving is difficult. - I feel dizzy when looking at very bright lights.
And I’m not sure if it’s just me, but since the surgery, my dark circles have gotten worse, and the fine blood vessels in my eyes don’t go away easily haha (This could be because I’m getting older, or there could be other combined reasons, so I think it’s best to just take it as something that can happen.)
I had it done about 2 years ago, so my memory is a bit hazy, but after surgery, I had a follow-up the next day, took off the eye patch, and for about a week I slept with plastic shields on so I wouldn’t rub my eyes. It was simpler than I expected, and I don’t think it was very uncomfortable.
I kept putting it off because I was scared of surgery, but honestly, I think I could have done it earlier.
