This community’s website has been renewed. Just a few months ago it still had a 2000s feel, but I’m glad it seems to have changed to look prettier than before.
I had surgery in May 2020, so it’s been almost a year now. My memories of having surgery have faded to the point that I wonder if I even had it. I wrote a few posts in this community several months ago, so please read those as well.
Someone posted a community link in our chat room, so I clicked it and came to the site, noticed the renewal, logged in, saw I had one message, replied to it, and since I was already here, I’m writing this review before I leave.
Back when I was going in for surgery, there were really almost no genuine reviews of Saein. Even searching here and there in plastic surgery cafes, 2 apps, and this community, there were only about 10 posts total? Among them, only 1 or 2 had photos.. the rest were all hearsay.. not reviews, etc. People I met in chat rooms who claimed to be Saein patients wouldn’t show photos (I don’t know why).
This is just my own guess, but since Saein was originally a hospital many people went to for extreme nose revision surgery, maybe the dissatisfaction rate was relatively higher compared with other places that have many patients and many primary surgeries.. But after my surgery, more primary cases and easier noses started going there, so maybe the satisfaction rate increased.. I was like that too, and usually people who choose Saein for their first surgery seem to be people for whom safe surgery is important..
Anyway, after I went in.. after seeing that my surgery went well, two men went in around June to July.. After that, based on my review, it feels like almost 30 people went there and had surgery.. (I don’t know exactly how many) I just counted the Saein patients still in the chat room and there are 17 (many graduated and left), so anyway, what I’m saying is that there are many genuine reviews inside the chat room.
The pricing is fixed (no cash discount, acquaintance discount, or anything like that), and they don’t do review events either.. so patients, including me, probably don’t write reviews unless there’s a strong reason. My surgery went well, and since I run a nose chat room, I came to leave a follow-up review and introduce the link.

There are also many people who had surgery at hospitals other than Saein. The Plus, Jungwon, Mind, Premier, Brown, N Plus, Migo, DA, DI, Kim In-joong, etc.. There are too many.
For reference, among the people in the chat room, there is 1 failed Saein review. This person had septal extension and a hump reduction at Brown, but the nasal tip drooped, so they had revision surgery at Saein in 2019, then problems occurred and they received 2 additional retouches, but it kept collapsing, so this person eventually went to The Plus and graduated.
The most important things 1. The first surgery is important. 2. You should mainly look only at reviews of noses shaped similarly to your own. 3. You should look at follow-up reviews. (There’s not much point in looking at lots of immediate post-op reviews posted on apps; once time passes and the nose settles, the shape changes, and there are many cases of drooping.)
Things people may likely ask about Saein.. (using casual note style for convenience) These are the things I felt after researching for about 1 month before surgery and living about 1 year after surgery:
● I heard there are many reviews dissatisfied with the shape? : I heard that before my surgery too, and shape wasn’t important to me, so I didn’t care. As a result, the shape came out pretty. After seeing several other people’s reviews, it differs by patient. For primary surgery, depending on the patient’s natural nose, and for revision surgery, depending on the current nose, it seems he brings out the potential within the available conditions.
● I heard breathing becomes easier? : I’m not sure.. I also feel like breathing may have gotten a bit easier.. I was a severe deviated septum case. Before surgery, I asked the director what he would do with the inferior turbinates, and he said that because of empty nose syndrome, he would fold them and move them backward without resecting/reducing the inferior turbinates, which reassured me at the time. But after surgery, the angle of my nasal tip changed nicely, and now I can see inside my nostrils in the mirror. Because of what I said right before surgery, I also wonder if he didn’t touch them............................. Anyway, the thing I regret most after surgery is not having reduced those inferior turbinates aggressively★ (Since the surgery went well overall, this ended up being the biggest regret...... How nice would it have been if, while opening the nose, all possible corrections related to rhinitis had been finished......) For reference, Saein is one of the few plastic surgery specialists who researches function.. Because of COVID, I did not go for my 6-month follow-up, so I still haven’t been able to ask about this.
● Is there a lot of swelling? : Yes.. please check the photos.. maybe it’s because the dissection was wide.. Thinking about it now, since the nasal structure is changed and the nasal tip angle is raised differently from before, I’ve concluded that it makes sense to do a wide dissection and newly redrape the skin to match the changed shape.
● If only ear cartilage is used, will it not droop? : There are cases where it droops within 1 month even after using autologous costal cartilage, and seeing that even with ear cartilage, like me, it shows no sign of drooping even after 1 year, it doesn’t seem to be only a matter of material. (There is a lot to say, but I’ll skip it..)
