The story of how I got sausage eyelids after eye surgery 6 years ago

I’m currently in my 3rd or 4th year of looking into revision surgery for sausage eyelids.

I remember my eyes being abnormally swollen when I came out after the surgery back then Since it was my first surgery, I couldn’t tell whether it had gone well or whether I was screwed But the coordinator’s expression, for 0.5 seconds the moment she saw me, apparently said I was screwed Then right after that she smiled and said, ‘Oh my, you look so pretty’ From that moment I knew. Ah, my eyes are ruined

I should have known from the moment the doctor, during surgery, was talking with the nurses next to him like, what should we eat for lunch today, jajangmyeon? and that kind of crap

I went back about a year later. The line was still abnormally high. Then what came back was, the swelling still hasn’t gone down fully, so let’s wait just one more year When I went back one year later, they looked at my eyes, which were still sausage eyelids, and said they were normal. Then the doctor slipped away, and through the coordinator told me they would lower the line for 1 million won.

Well. Since deciding on revision surgery, I think I’ve gone around to about 15 clinics. Skill is important too, but now I first look at whether this person has the character to turn away from me later if things were to go wrong. Since they’re human, even very skilled people can make mistakes. But I think a person’s character shows in whether they take responsibility for a mistake. I should have sensed, during the consultation, the kind of character that talks about jajangmyeon during surgery while the patient’s eyes are open.

Today too, I called one place to book surgery but I hesitated because of the rude tone of the person answering the phone at the consultation counter. They’re not the doctor directly operating on me, but seeing that they let someone with that kind of character sit at the counter made me think, maybe birds of a feather flock together?

It’s difficult. After seeing how the first surgeon responded, I’ve become so suspicious that it’s a problem. I hope everyone has a successful revision surgery. And I hope I can finally escape this cycle of worrying about revision surgery too.
