Over ten years ago, when I was a college student, I only had double eyelid surgery by incision.
Since it was an incision method, I naturally thought there would be scars when I closed my eyes, and honestly, it looked natural when my eyes were open, and even when I closed them there was only a neat mark at the front, so it wasn’t a major source of stress.
Then a few years later, someone I knew had epicanthoplasty and incisional double eyelid surgery, and it looked so natural that I went for an epicanthoplasty consultation too. They said I also needed to do double eyelid surgery together, so I did it, and it was botched.. haha ㅠ.ㅠ
It used to be an inline crease, but it changed to an outline crease, the heights on both sides are different, there’s a hook-shaped scar from the epicanthoplasty, and the incision line is all uneven..
Still, when I wore makeup I often heard that I looked pretty, and I was scared of having any more surgery, so I just lived with it. But as I got older, ptosis developed in one eye.
I joined a cafe and this community to look for information, and I saw that even people who had surgery at hospitals that used to be famous for revisions sometimes had no change at all or developed side effects and were looking again. And like me, even at the same hospital, some people turned out well and some didn’t depending on the person...
For those preparing for surgery, please make sure to look into it a lot. Even if someone you know had good results, each person’s eye structure and tissue characteristics are different, so I hope you keep that in mind when deciding on a hospital.
