First, I’ll reveal the hospital if I’m satisfied after the splint comes off. (It’s our first time meeting, but I’ll write in a blunt shorthand style.)
Originally my surgery was in the afternoon, but 3 days before, it got changed to a morning surgery, so I ended up having surgery in the very first slot. Lucky. They told me to come by 8, so I went to the hospital on time. As soon as I got there, I went to put my clothes and shoes in the locker. This place is a huge large-scale hospital, but the desk staff was a bit unfriendly. Maybe it’s because I’m an old-fashioned person who thinks people in service jobs should provide proper service, but if I had been someone with a tofu-soft mentality, scared of surgery and trembling alone, I would have been even more anxious. So I guess this place is known for being good at surgery but has low ratings. The consultant and director are really so good, but the desk staff ruins it allㅋㅋㅋㅋ First impressions matter in anything, so if the hospital sees this review, please replace the desk staff... Anyway, I changed into surgical clothes, paid, and then met the consultant. Not my face, but I’ve had a lot of minor illnesses, so I have quite a bit of surgery experience. So I wasn’t that scared of surgery, and above all I don’t have much attachment to lifeㅋㅋㅋㅋ So I wasn’t really nervous. But they very meticulously wrote down when I had surgery on other areas, what anesthesia was used, almost my full chart history from the last 10 years. I once had local anesthesia on an area that really hurt, and they empathized, asking how they did local anesthesia there and saying it must have really hurt during anesthesia. I wasn’t that nervous, but it eased the awkward atmosphere of being there alone. And I had gone after seeing reviews on another app, but when I asked if they could write on the chart that I came after seeing it in a community, they gladly wrote it, so I was thankful. After that, I filled out the consent form, and since they said they would give a discount if I wrote a review, I also wrote the consent form for that. (I’m really saying everything honestly.) There was wording saying they would like me to write positively, but if I don’t like it, I’m going to write that I don’t like it. Still, I think the surgical progress matters, so I thought I should write after leaving a long enough interval. I should mention this tomorrow too. And a little later, the director came in smiling, and without even looking at the chart said, ‘We decided to do this, right?’ My trust just shot way up.... It’s nothing much, but still. Since the space between my eyes is narrow, I absolutely wanted it natural, raised only as much as people are normally born with. My original nose shape was honestly amazingly pretty, but my nasal bridge was seriously twenty thousand leagues under the sea... So from the side, I basically had no bridge, to the point that both eyes were visible like one thing. So my request was for it to be natural no matter what and not very different from my current nose shape. And honestly, the biggest reason I chose this place over other hospitals was my deviated septum. That condition is pretty severe for me, so when I lie down, I can’t breathe. So I considered only doing it functionally, but then thought I might as well build up the bridge a bit too, so I decided to do them together. While shopping around for consultations, everyone said insurance would apply, and the price went up to a truly ridiculous level. They’re just straightening the septum... If you think about it, the insured fee is cheap and cosmetic nose surgery is expensive, so the price really made me go ugh. But here, during the doctor’s consultation, they said the deviation correction is done as a basic part before proceeding with cosmetic surgery and they don’t charge for it. They told me to think about it, asking how you could put a straight implant into a crooked nose... They said of course they would straighten it, correct the septum, put the implant on top, and use cartilage obtained from the septum for the nasal tip. As I listened, it made sense, so at that point I trusted them a lot. And even though I hadn’t said it, they told me to know that because the space between my eyes is narrow, even if I ask them to raise it, they can’t raise it much. At that point I liked everything, so after the doctor left, I made the reservation. As expected, right before surgery they also told me not to worry about surgical safety or side effects, and that they would make it as safe and pretty as possible. So I said okay and went straight to the operating room and lay down on the operating table. I don’t know what it was, but after they put in something like an IV and fixed both my arms and legs, an anesthesiologist who seemed extremely unfriendly came and said I would feel a little dizzy, so I wondered when I would get dizzy. But then suddenly a disgusting smell came up like crazy, and I thought, what is this smell? But when I opened my eyes, I was in the hospital roomㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ General anesthesia really feels awful whenever you wake up from it. Dizzy and like you’re going to throw up. Anyway, my guardian came, and in the place where the guardian could listen too, they explained the post-op precautions once more and told me tomorrow’s appointment time. But I don’t rememberㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ I only knew because my mom told meㅋㅋㅋㅋ Make sure... when you go home, write down the next appointment time, instead of asking twice.. Only one guardian was allowed, so my dad came to pick up the medication instead. What I’ve done since coming home until now is ice pack while pouring blood. If I lower my head even a little, blood just streams out and I can feel, ah, this is gravity... I was foolish for thinking I would study. I sent my friend a photo of me like this, and they asked if I was Lee Seung-chul from “Welcome.” I’ve literally been in that state until now. Because of the bleeding, you really have to change the gauze often. I’ve disinfected myself multiple times before, so I’m skilled at it, but for friends who aren’t, it would be good to buy medium gauze, alcohol swabs, and tape, then make gauze like the nurse made and use that. Blood crusts must be wiped with alcohol swabs, not tissue. In a previous surgery, I thought something like a wet wipe would be fine and got an infection. So definitely alcohol swabs, and pick them up with tweezers, not your hands. Of course, disinfecting the tweezers is obviously a basic option. Anyway, I’m really diligently doing cold compresses, and I bought a wireless humidifier, so even when I move around I’m carrying it like a lantern. Definitely buy a wireless humidifier... the best... Since I have rhinitis anyway, I’m used to breathing through my mouth, so it’s bearable, but I think people who aren’t used to it would have a hard time. And they said sleeping deeply with a high pillow is good for recovery and that you don’t have to sleep sitting up, so I brought over every pillow in the house. For now, my nose has really become an otherworldly nose-bongㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ I wonder if it’s supposed to be like this... I even wonder if I did it for nothing. My original nose shape suited my face and was pretty... This is my first time becoming such a big-nosed person, but the diagonal? view is definitely pretty. So I’ve decided to just trust the doctor... Tomorrow’s review, I’ll post after taking out the nasal cotton.
