Nose Re-Surgery

Silicone-only removal review, Day 9

First of all, the before photo shows my nose after I had received one AS revision, and during that AS revision, silicone was inserted (during the first surgery, the hump was shaved down / I heard they used silicone that gets thicker toward the nasal tip). After the splint was removed, the silicone was shifted to the left, so I had it corrected once, and after that it shifted again. I didn’t tell the clinic right away and waited, thinking it would settle into place, but it was still the same at the 5-month mark, so I asked them to remove it! During that time, aside from my nose surgery, I had various stressful things going on, so my mental state wasn’t good either. Every time I lay down, I felt pressure only on the left side of my nasal bridge, so it really bothered me even when sleeping, but now that it’s out, I feel so much better

Materials currently remaining in my nose: ear cartilage, septal cartilage

Even until the day before removal, I searched a lot, wondering if contraction might happen or if I was unnecessarily touching my nose again, but there were fewer reviews than I expected of people who had only silicone removed within 6 months after surgery without inflammation!

On Days 1-3, it felt like my facial muscles were somehow broken It felt like I kept unconsciously tensing my face..? (especially around the glabella or forehead), so I consciously relaxed my face because I was worried my forehead filler might clump! Oh, and I went to work from the day after surgery, but there wasn’t any strenuous work to begin with, so it was okay Because of the weather these days, my face was dry and felt tight, so I wondered if that was why. I applied just a little moisturizing cream except on the taped area on my nasal bridge, and it was okay. Now that I think about it, maybe it was because it was dry..? As for the taping, on Day 5 my nose skin was so itchy I felt like I was going crazy. They had originally said I could remove the tape by myself at home on Day 7, but I just removed it on Day 5. Ha.. I seriously felt like I could live again. I don’t know when everyone else removes it, but when I went to the clinic on Day 3 and asked, “Do I remove the tape today?” they said, “Do you need to remove it? It’s better to keep it on for about a week.” I didn’t have any issues, but since it’s generally better to follow the clinic’s instructions.. unless the itching makes you feel like you’re losing your mind, I do think it’s better to keep it on

As for pain, it was done by a closed approach, and there wasn’t much bleeding, so they didn’t even put in cotton packing. Maybe because there was no packing, it was a different kind of dull, aching pain from when I had my nose surgery..? They also prescribed medicine, but for the week I took the medicine, my digestion was really bad..

How it feels when I touch the nasal bridge? The nasal bridge feels slightly bumpy, and right before the nasal tip it dips in slightly, then the tip feels like it pops up! But it doesn’t show externally as much as it feels when I touch it! It could be because it’s only Day 9 though..

I’m currently on Day 9, and so far there’s nothing wrong! I’ll need to keep watching it, but if there’s any problem, I’ll post again then! If you have any questions, please leave a comment!
