After my school final exams ended, I made an appointment right away and got alar reduction done today.
I wanted to get rhinoplasty at the same time too, but during my previous consultation, they said my glabella area is narrow, so if I raise my nose bridge, my eyes could look too close together ㅋㅋ큐ㅠㅠㅠㅠ So I just went, "I seeㅠㅠ," and only did alar reduction.
Usually people seem to visit several places for consultations, but I had already searched many places online and didn't have much time, so I got a consultation at the clinic and just had surgery right away.
From the start, I only wanted the internal method for alar reduction, not the external method, so I don't think I had any intention of going elsewhere.
I was also worried that if they reduced it too much, my nose might look pinched, so I looked for a place that would make it as natural as possible.
Anyway, even though it was surgery, I went and came back with a light heart, without feeling particularly nervous.
In the morning, I took the bus there, got instructions, changed shoes, washed my face, and waited. Even then, I don't think I felt nervous or anything.
Around the time I went into the operating room and lay down, I did get a little nervous, but songs kept playing on the radio, so while listening to the music, even that slight nervousness went away ㅎ
Before surgery, they first removed my nose hairs and foreign material, then covered my face with the green surgical drape so that only my nose was visible. Only then did I think, "Ah, I'm really having surgery."
The surgery was under local anesthesia, so they started by giving anesthetic injections, and the doctor said,
"It will hurt a little."
And wow..... I squeezed the two hands I had placed on my stomach so tightly I was sick of it.
That was the biggest crisis of today's surgery.
No, maybe the biggest crisis was when they said, "You need to breathe through your mouth," and stuffed cotton into my nose, pressing it firmly deep into my nose, which was painful and uncomfortable. It felt like the discomfort I had during a COVID test, but several times bigger in volume.ㅠㅠ
Anyway, after the anesthesia fully took effect, I only felt things like, "I'm having surgery....," "Are they stitching?", "Ah, they're cutting the thread."
They said the surgery would take about 30 minutes, so I thought time would pass really slowly, but I kept the beat of the songs on the radio and sang along in my head, and then the surgery was over. It ended after about 6 to 7 songs.
A lot of songs I like came on too, so I think I was paying more attention to the music than the surgery ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
I still remember them. Zico's Any Song, Ha Hyun-woo's Stone Block, BTS RUN, a Turtles song too..... I don't remember the title of the last song, but anyway, that song was good too.
I was writing in such a stream-of-consciousness style that I ended up somewhere weird ㅋㅋㅋㅋ
Since I saved up my allowance and invested it in my face, thinking about the money I spent today makes me a little dizzy, but overall I think I did well.
Even though only my nostril wings were reduced, my nose looks a bit smaller overall, and my impression really changed!
The doctor said it could look a bit excessive on the day of surgery, but honestly I hope it doesn't spread out more than this and heals well ㅋㅋ
