First of all, I’m a nursing assistant, and I once worked briefly at a plastic surgery clinic. It specialized in liposuction, I think? But the clinic is gone now. Anyway, the first surgery I watched was shocking to me. The surgical instrument looked like a really long rod. For example, if they do liposuction on the legs, they make a small incision along the panty line, insert this very long rod-like surgical instrument through it, and move it back and forth to suction out the fat. But our flesh is all connected, right? Since the instrument has to go in, they proceed by pushing through the spaces between the skin with the instrument. Should I say piercing through? They create space between the skin and the dermis? with the instrument... and the sound is, um, kind of a squelching sound When patients wake up from anesthesia, they’re in a lot of pain. Of course it hurts, since the spaces under the skin have been opened up like that If you’re considering liposuction, try watching the liposuction process on YouTube. After I saw that, I no longer wanted to do it
