There’s also a simple summary below. If you don’t like long posts, just read the key points and go ㅋ.ㅋ If you’re curious about the surgery process, reading this should help.
In photo order - Before double eyelid surgery, when opening my eyes without putting in effort - Before double eyelid surgery, when opening my eyes with slight effort - After double eyelid surgery, taken immediately right after surgery
What I considered the drawbacks of my eyes were that they were small, I had a lot of fat so my eye-opening strength was weak, and the Mongolian fold area, lacrimal caruncle exposure, and the inner corner? line were raised in a very strange way, so I saw them as a complex.
I spent 1 month waiting for my consultation appointment, and I didn’t go around consulting elsewhere. After the consultation, I booked surgery for the earliest possible date right away. At first, when they made the line for me, it looked too greasy and I didn’t like it, but I regretted it while paying the deposit and came back lololololololol I felt like it would be a waste after waiting 1 month, and I wanted to get the surgery quickly.
What I felt from the above is that even if it’s really annoying, you should go around to many places and get consultations so you can become familiar with your own line and with asking questions. I did it right away, but when people say to go to several consultations, it really isn’t for no reason.. I realized that this time, and when I get nose surgery next time, I’m going to visit many places.
Then the long-awaited surgery day came. At first I thought, when I go in, I should show the photo of the line I want again! But customers kept coming into the lobby, the director looked busy, and after the consultation manager took photos before my double eyelid surgery, I filled out the surgery consent form simply.
Then I waited for the director, and the director gave a brief explanation, but since I didn’t know, I trusted him and did it. After moving, I washed my face cleanly and waited, then entered the operating room, and it was cold lololol And my photos were put up there.. While that was happening, the nurses inserted the IV needle, and before starting surgery, I had one final line consultation with the director! It seemed like a line I liked, so I just asked him to do it.
After the director held the line with a skewer-like tool, he drew on my face, and I repeatedly closed and opened my eyes. Not long after, sedation anesthesia went in, and it felt really strange.. At first, everything turned orange like pixels, I could hear music, it was fascinating, and my eyes appeared in multiple forms lolololololol It sounds weird, but it really felt like space, that kind of strange feeling.. I even wondered if this is what drugs would feel like
After about 5 minutes, the sedation wore off and they gave local anesthesia, and at that moment I thought the surgery was already underway.. But that was when it started, and I kept my eyes closed no matter what, and breathing felt difficult.. I was breathing through my nose, but I have some rhinitis.. And after sedation anesthesia, my throat became so so so so sooooo so so so dry, seriously so!!!!!! I really thought I was going to die because I wanted water so badly.. During the surgery, there was also a smell like grilled squid,, and even during surgery the director repeatedly told me to open and close my eyes. But when I had the epicanthoplasty, the feeling was a bit strange, and when they put thread into the middle of my upper eyelid? it stung a little.
Lying there, I was thinking, ah, when will this end..? Because even when I opened and closed my eyes, I didn’t really know what was going on. The surgery ended after about an hour and a half, and my throat was insanely dry.. When my throat is dry, swallowing saliva feels like a tearing sting, and even drinking water didn’t make it go away easily ㅜㅜ At first, I came out of the surgical clinic and bought a 500 ml bottle of water, but even after drinking all of it, the thirst was no joke.. You really must bring water.
They gave me something for cold compresses, so in the recovery room they gave me a kit and things, and I did a little at a time on the way home. I thought it would be good to keep doing it not only on the upper eyelids but around them too, so I did it about 4 times yesterday. As time passes, the bruising gets worse and it feels numb and sore.. Numb and swollen. I hope the swelling goes down well. When I looked in the mirror after surgery, I liked the line so much, so I really hope the swelling goes down soon!!
Thank you for reading this long post :)
Summary 1. Go to several places for consultations. Otherwise, you’ll regret it during consultation 2. It’s good to bring a guardian on surgery day. It’s so convenient. 3. Sedation anesthesia is fascinating and feels strange, and the biggest downside is that your throat gets insanely dry, so you become a water-drinking hippo. 4. As time passes, the eyes become gruesome with blood scabs and bruising, but I’m going to keep using eye ointment, cold compresses, and antibiotics.
