It's already been nearly 6 to 7 years since I had the surgery.
At the time, I thought that if the surgery went well, I would leave reviews here and there and share information, but people's minds are really fickle. Once it turned out well, I stopped bringing up the surgery as if my eyes had always been pretty haha.
It was my first cosmetic surgery ever, and so far it has also been my last facial cosmetic surgery. Because I was scared that my face could change, I really went around to a lot of places for consultations, and among the clinics I visited, this was the only doctor who recommended incisional double eyelid surgery + ptosis correction.
Other clinics were busy telling me my eyes could be done with the non-incisional buried-suture method and trying to set a surgery date, but the director at this clinic actually said confidently, 'These eyes cannot be done with the buried-suture method. They will definitely come undone after a year, and you will end up having surgery again,' so I think that gave me a lot of trust.
Oh, and I was a student back then, and I still remember that he asked me, 'What is your future career goal?' I knew nothing and burst out laughing at the sudden question, and even though he seemed a little offended lol, he said it is better to shape the eyes differently depending on the job. Looking back, I think I understand what he meant. Now that I have become an ordinary office worker, the in-out line the director made for me feels just right, and I think he meant that if I had a job where I appeared in front of people a lot, it might have been better to make the line a bit bigger.
In the end, I think it was one of the few best choices I've made in my life haha. When I go places, I really hear a lot that my eyes are pretty. Even close friends who know I had double eyelid surgery tell me, 'Your eye line was really beautifully designed. Among people I've seen who had surgery, yours is the prettiest.'
That said, maybe because it was incisional, I don't think it looks completely surgery-free. (Especially when I smile or close my eyes) Still, these days I don't really care much, since double eyelid surgery isn't exactly a flaw.
