No surgery experience, went to 4 places on my first consultation day. I have double eyelids, but my eyes are asymmetric, and I especially like one eye, so I want to correct the other side. I’ve wanted surgery for about 10 years, but I hesitated because the psychological risk felt big, since I might end up with side effects or something to lose, like unpredictable results, etc. Then I started doing video-shooting work, and it was stressful having my complexes confirmed through photos and videos, so I searched online and started going around for consultations..
1. ㄴㅅㅎ/ㄱㄷㅎ Consultation fee X They said the director was in surgery, so I waited and had the consultation. I wanted them to examine my eyes a bit more carefully, but it felt like they just drew the line, explained the surgical method, and it was over in a rush.
I also booked because people in a community said this doctor doesn’t over-recommend and gives blunt, realistic feedback, but they seemed indifferent and like the type to speak very bluntly, so people sensitive to that kind of thing might get hurt Recommended surgical method: natural adhesion, non-incisional on both sides, upper canthoplasty and ptosis correction only on one eye. When I asked about lower canthoplasty, they pulled my eye downward and asked if that looked pretty. It annoyed me a bit, but it was funny so I laughed it off ㅌㅋㅋ When I asked if they could make it so no scar shows when I close my eyes, they said depending on a person’s skin/flesh quality, it can be bumpy or it can be clean. For CCTV, they’ll show it after surgery if I ask to see it. 980,000 won / If I don’t provide photos or write a review, it’s in the 1.3 million won range.

Willbe / ㄱㅈㅇ Consultation fee X I went because people in a community said they do natural-looking work well, but the staff all had very flashy-looking faces, in a way that looked obviously surgically enhanced, so it wasn’t my style. They said they had surgery directly from the director, so I got a little intimidated because it seemed like they had a different aesthetic from what I’m pursuing. Unexpectedly, this doctor told me to do non-incisional only on one eye. They said the eye I don’t like needs the line lowered, but if done with buried sutures it will come undone. From the start, I was already wondering whether I should do both eyes because even doing only one side with buried sutures might look unnatural, but only one side by incision.. When I asked whether that would look unnatural when I close my eyes, they said people go around with their eyes open, and who stares only at that line when someone’s eyes are closed? So they think it won’t matter. They said why touch a pretty eye unnecessarily and leave a scar, so I was a bit flustered.... I do have two eyes, you know..? I remember the price being in the 1 million won range. The consultation manager said they’d give a discount if I posted three reviews on communities.
3. ㅇㄹ / private clinic Consultation fee X The only place that took photos with my hair fully pulled back and explained while looking at the screen. When I asked about CCTV, they said if I want, they can let my guardian watch my surgery process in real time from the consultation room. Because they don’t record it, I can’t watch it myself after surgery, but if I request separately and pay about 200,000 won, I can watch it myself. They said they need to schedule about 1 hour and 30 minutes for surgery, and their aftercare service was similar to the ㄴㅅㅎ clinic. When I said the previous clinic recommended incisional surgery, they said it would be a waste to do incision with the eyes I currently have. Even if it may come undone, they recommended buried sutures. Natural adhesion buried suture method + ptosis correction and upper canthoplasty only on the eye I don’t like. (When I asked, “Wouldn’t I need lower canthoplasty to match the eye I like?” they said lower canthoplasty would probably be good too. They hadn’t recommended it first, so did I ask for no reason?) If I want surgery only on one eye, that’s possible too, and if I want both eyes, they said they’d set the line slightly higher. If doing only natural adhesion without canthoplasty: 1.65 million won for both eyes, 1.32 million won for one eye. If including all canthoplasties: 3 million won for both eyes, 2.76 million won for one eye. If providing photos and a review: 2.5 million won for both eyes, 2.15 million won for one eye. When I asked why it’s so expensive when some places do buried sutures for 500,000 won, they said it’s because the director is responsible for everything from start to finish, and the free AS cost is all included.. The person who consulted with me said she had revision surgery with this director. Her face was pretty, but when she closed her eyes there was a slightly bumpy line, so I hesitated, wondering if this really is a matter of individual constitution..
4. ㅈㅇㅈㅇ / head director I was flustered because they quoted over 3 million won. The doctor was the only one who measured my eyes with a ruler and looked at them the most carefully. They said from 9 mm and above, many people come for revision because of a sausage-eye effect, 6 mm is very natural, and 8 mm is glamorous. The eye I like is 8 mm, so they recommended not raising it any higher. The eye I don’t like is 9 mm, so the line needs to be lowered, but they said I don’t actually have a double eyelid; it’s a case where a multiple crease formed due to sunken upper eyelids, so I would only get a satisfactory result if fat is added to fill it. They said they usually recommend this with age, but in my case my eyes protrude and the area above them is sunken, so they would need to take a small amount of fat from my thigh and put it around the eyes to fill the hollow, and then the double eyelid surgery won’t come undone. It was my first time hearing anything like this, so I became extremely confused. Until then it was like, “Each clinic says something a bit different.. what should I decide..?” but from here I just reached, “Wha...? Should I just not do it^^”.... They said I can’t watch the CCTV, and it’s only possible for government authorities to come and view it if a legal issue arises.
I have 4 more consultations booked on Saturday, but I really don’t know what to do. I want to do it at No. 1, but No. 4 said because my upper eyelids are sunken, if I don’t fill the eye fat, I’ll need revision anyway even if I do the surgery... Should I get surgery at No. 1, and if it comes undone, just pay the anesthesia fee and get revision? Since they said they provide AS.. Will I end up feeling self-conscious on my own? I’m worried... should I just live as I am? Since I’ve read a lot here and gotten help, I hope this helps everyone who is researching clinics by hand!
