Before/after/after It’s already been a month and a half since I had posterior and lower canthoplasty ㅎ After surgery, my conjunctival edema was worse than anyone’s, so it was really uncomfortable, but as if by magic, as soon as the stitches were removed it went down quickly, and from two days later I wore contact lenses and makeup. The redness at the outer corners of my eyes was also severe, but now it has all disappeared and looks natural. It feels like my eyes got huge without anyone noticing ㅎ ㅎ Now I’ll share my honest first impressions and review.
Review of posterior and lower canthoplasty at the clinic -Reason I decided to have surgery- First of all, when seen with the naked eye, my eyes were not severely narrow or sharply upturned, but out of personal desire I wanted puppy-like eyes, so I decided to have the surgery. There wasn’t a lot of room to open them enough for a dramatic before-and-after difference, so I chose a clinic that could definitely widen them.
-Clinic atmosphere and impressions- I’ve been to so many plastic surgery clinics and had many surgeries too, but this was the first time I’d seen a clinic where the nurses, operating room staff, consultant, and desk staff were all this kind. They paid attention to every small detail, and even if this weren’t a review, the kindness and attentiveness were so good that I thought I should write about it separately in a community. It was on a completely different level from other clinics. Especially, the consultations with the consultant and director were really good, and honestly I think I chose this clinic without hesitation because of the consultant. They explained things clearly and straightforwardly, and even though I was asking endless questions, they answered my questions realistically. When I saw the director on the day of surgery, I was actually very shaky, scared, and nervous, but maybe they could tell I was nervous, because until I went under sedation they joked around to help me relax. I was really grateful. Thanks to that, I think I was able to have the surgery with peace of mind. At this clinic, whether during consultation or right before surgery when getting the director’s confirmation, I felt that they explained the surgical method and possible discomfort, side effects, etc. afterward very carefully one by one. I liked this point the most. Usually there’s a lot of talk about design aspects, and functional things come second, you know ㅎㅎ
-After surgery- Right after surgery, I really thought something had gone wrong with my eyes. I saw four of everything, couldn’t focus, felt dizzy, and I think I lay in the recovery room for about 2 hours. The nurse said it could be like that for about 2-3 hours on the day of surgery, so I fumbled my way into a taxi and came home. Gradually the swelling increased and edema developed in my eyes, so I couldn’t see ahead, and all day my eyes were dry and gritty, with bloodshot eyes, bruising, and swelling ㅜㅜ There wasn’t any particular pain, but it was just so uncomfortable. It looked scary too, so I couldn’t go anywhere, and for 5 days I think I just lay at home doing cold compresses.
