I had nose surgery 10 years ago and it went well, with no side effects, good symmetry, and overall harmony, but only the nasal bridge was a bit high, and my skin became thinner, so I decided on revision surgery to adjust the height of the nasal bridge.
I had the existing implant removed, replaced with soft silicone, and used septal cartilage and artificial dermis.
Honestly, I regret the surgery.
From the glabella to the nasal bridge to the nasal tip, the left/right symmetry is off, so my nostrils are uneven. The height differs on both sides. Only one side of the nasal bridge is clearly high with a steep slope. It shows even more in photos, you know. Even though I’m one month post-op and still swollen, it’s noticeable. I think it will show even more once all the swelling goes down.
The nasal bridge still has a large bruise, and even when I wear a mask, the bruise shows above it, so I still can’t go out. On top of that, the bruise on the nasal bridge could even be inflammation, so every day after surgery feels like walking on thin ice. I took strong antibiotics that others would take for one week for more than a month.
I deeply regret not doing it at another hospital famous for nose revision surgery. I’m also really disappointed with how the hospital side (director, consultant, etc.) handled things after surgery. There was also a lot of noise during surgery, to the point that I was about to consult a lawyer with a medical license and proceed with a lawsuit.
