Review after undoing ptosis correction

I had natural adhesion double eyelid surgery + non-incisional ptosis correction + epicanthoplasty, and because of functional side effects from ptosis correction and a change in my impression to a very intense, glaring look, 2 weeks later I undid the ptosis correction + natural adhesion double eyelid. I’m leaving this review in case it helps others who are considering ptosis correction surgery.

My eyes were a sunken-eye type, my skin was on the thicker side, and I had eyes with a thin inner double eyelid. I had a habit of often using my forehead to open my eyes to make them look a bit clearer.

I wanted my eyes to open comfortably without using my forehead, and I wanted them to look slightly clearer than before, so I started looking into ptosis correction surgery. When I looked at reviews, there were many saying their eyes became more defined, so I also had ptosis correction surgery while creating a thin inner double eyelid with natural adhesion.

As a result, after ptosis correction surgery, my impression became extremely intense and glaring. Even though the double eyelid line wasn’t high, the ptosis correction made my eyelids bulge, giving me a very greasy-looking impression. Also, as the eyelids bulged upward, the distance between my eyes and eyebrows narrowed, making my impression look even fiercer. As my eyelids became bulging, my eyes felt that much more deeply sunken. If before they were at a sunken level, after surgery they felt like sinkholes. It was very foreign and unnatural.

There were also many functional problems. After surgery, I felt pain and headaches around my eyes, forehead, and temples. My eyes and forehead felt too tight, and my facial expressions became very awkward. I felt pain not only when my eyes were open, but even when they were closed, so I couldn’t sleep well. The doctor said it was a temporary phenomenon, but honestly, I think to some extent you just become dulled to the pain. But I thought this kind of pain was at a level I could never become dulled to, and to put it extremely, I was scared I would end up with ruined eyes.

So despite the doctor trying to stop me, at around 2 weeks I had both the ptosis correction and natural adhesion undone. They said that if I undid the ptosis correction, I would also have to undo the double eyelid and remake the line, but I didn’t like the double eyelid either, so I undid everything. After undoing it, all the functional side effects disappeared, and the glaring, intense feeling also disappeared. I wish the double eyelid would disappear too, but even after 1 week it still hasn’t come undone.. When I went back for another consultation afterward, they said because I undid it after 2 weeks, there is a high chance it will come undone, but if adhesion has progressed, it may not...

It was such a hellish 3 weeks, and it is the choice I regret most in my life. If I could go back, I would never do it. Of course, there are probably people who are doing well without problems after ptosis correction and who are satisfied with the results. But once I developed problems after surgery and searched around, I found many people like me who had functional side effects or whose impression changed too much and wanted to undo it.

If you are really considering ptosis correction because you want it, please make sure to look up all the side effects and read all the reviews from people who have undone ptosis correction, and use them as reference.
