Is there anyone here who didn’t remove their fixation pins because the hospital said they didn’t need to be removed??
I believed the hospital consultant when she said I didn’t really need to remove them, but in my 11th year, the aching became so bad and hard to bear that I had them removed
I think the aching started around year 4 or 5.... At first it only happened intermittently
Later, on cloudy days, it always ached. Then when monsoon season came, it hurt so much.. My face hurt enough that I even took painkillers
After enduring and enduring it like that, I went to the hospital where I had the surgery and finally had them removed..
Thankfully, they removed all except 2 pins.. I’m happy they were removed well at least
They said my bone had already grown over and covered 2 of them.. So to remove those pins, they said they would have to shave down the bone
I thought of that consultant who said when I first scheduled the surgery that I didn’t need to remove them, and I felt so upset and resentful
Anyway, after removing them, I checked the pins with my own eyes (I think there were more than 20), and I felt relieved
But I also cried because I felt so sorry to my face...
Everyone, if you’ve had facial contouring or double-jaw surgery, I think it would be good to remove the pins before it gets too late
I paid three times more to have them removed...
