Before<before>After<after>When I was a student, I knew nothing and was taken by my mom to get medial epicanthoplasty + double eyelid surgery, which ended in a major failure. The following year, I had medial epicanthoplasty reconstruction + double eyelid surgery again.
But after the revision surgery, I struggled with mucosal eversion, an uneven line, and eyelids that were becoming undone. After worrying about it for 10 years, I completed a third surgery at a clinic.
During the consultation, the director and staff were kind and attentive, which was nice, but on the actual day of surgery the atmosphere felt cold, so I remember being worried until the very last moment..
Because it was a double-line technique, scarring appeared in places I had not expected, and when I close my eyes, the line is sunken and noticeable. But since these were characteristics I was already aware of, I was okay with it. It could not be helped.. During consultations, some places did not recommend the double-line technique, but because of dry eye, I also needed to do the double-line technique even if it left scars.
It is disappointing that the shapes on both sides and the strength when opening my eyes are a bit different, and that neither side settled into an in-out crease shape. Still, many things improved compared with before, and since I do not want any more eye surgery, I just hope it does not come undone.
If this is your first double eyelid surgery, I think it would be best not to do it if possible, or to think it over one more time. If it is a revision surgery, I think it would be good to consult as many places as possible!! and compare them over enough time!:)
