I had it done in December 2011 after being discharged from the military, and my vision in both eyes (left/right) is still 1.0/1.2! The side effects are dry eye and glare/light scattering. Dry eye seems to come on a bit when I get tired easily or things like that, and because of the glare, I try not to drive at night. Other than that, there is nothing particularly uncomfortable.
I do not really use artificial tears, and in summer and when I use the computer, I try to wear glasses that block UV rays and blue light whenever possible!
