Since it’s revision surgery, I plan to go through about 8 to 10 consultations before having surgery. I’ve finished consultations at ㅍㄹㅇㅂ, ㅇㄹ, ㅈㅇㅈㅇ, and ㄷㄹㅅ, and after Chuseok I’m scheduled for consultations at ㅇㅎㅅ and ㅎㅂㄴ. I’ll share information on just 3 of the places I visited in August.
ㅍㄹㅇㅂ (ㅡㅏㅣㅣㅅ) -Surgery: eye revision surgery -It was a weekday, so booking a consultation wasn’t difficult, but once I arrived, the wait was pretty intense. -There were two directors, and I went without choosing a specific one. It seems the consultant matched me herself? The consultant was kind during her consultation too, and there was no pressured atmosphere at all, which was good. -They honestly said it would be difficult to change my eyes into the look I want with double eyelid surgery alone. They said my current line is asymmetric and my eye-opening strength is weak, so my eyes are typically indistinct-looking. -They recommended revision surgery with incision, along with ptosis correction and front and rear canthoplasty. -My first surgery was non-incisional buried suture, and even then I had a lot of swelling, so suddenly doing incision plus canthoplasty plus ptosis correction felt a bit burdensome. I just said okay for now and wanted to see what the next clinic would say. -The director was proactive during the consultation and tended to lead it by asking if I had any more questions. -The price was more expensive than expected, but there are discounts. AS for 1 year.
ㅇㄹ (ㅗㄹㅗ) -Surgery: eye revision surgery -I went after seeing naturally well-done reviews in a community. -The consultant’s consultation was clean and efficient. She asked only the necessary questions and wrote things down, and I didn’t wait long before consulting with the director right away. -This time as well, incision was recommended for revision surgery. First, both of my eyes have asymmetry in the line itself, and the inner corners are covered a lot, so they said it looks like I have epicanthal folds. -The director showed how my eyes would look if the line were changed together with canthoplasty, and it looked less excessive than I expected and seemed good, so I liked it. Also, when I hesitated about incision itself, the director said incision is the right method for eyes like mine with thick skin and fat. I also saw postoperative cases, and even though they were incision cases, recovery looked faster than expected, so it seemed okay. -They said ptosis correction and epicanthoplasty would also be possible if I wanted. However, they said the epicanthoplasty would be done mildly because if too much is opened, my eyes could easily look like a semi-out line. -The director was kind, and when answering my questions, explained reasons like eye structure and skin/flesh characteristics, which felt professional. -The price was more expensive than my first surgery, but I liked that AS was 3 years.
ㄷㄹㅅ (ㅡㅔㅡ) -Surgery: eye revision surgery -Overall, it felt quite chaotic. The wait was long too. -The consultant first gave a long explanation about my eyes. In terms of ratio, you could say the consultation was director 3: consultant 7. -The director was a bit chic and not exactly the friendly type, but that doesn’t mean unfriendly. The style was to say only what needed to be said and end it. The director marked the line, said it should be done like this, only talked about surgical matters, and ended. The downside is that if I don’t ask more questions, the consultation doesn’t really get led further. -They recommended incision, ptosis correction, and fat removal together. The director did explain clearly why these surgeries were needed. -The price drops sharply if you include review discounts and other things. I don’t know whether I didn’t hear the AS explanation or whether I don’t remember it;; I plan to ask by KakaoTalk.
What I felt -This may be a generalization, but I felt that even if a private clinic had many people, the system was well organized. It didn’t feel like a marketplace. -At places with long waits, they said I had to wait because the director went into surgery. Then I wondered why they didn’t make the appointment after the surgery was finished from the start.. Why schedule it in advance? -No matter how professional the consultation is, if it ends too briefly, there’s a high chance I’ll come out without getting to ask things I’m curious about, so I think a place that consults carefully and at length would be good *especially even more for everyone looking into a first surgery -There was a clinic I liked, but after Chuseok I’ll go to more consultations and then try to set a date.
