Yesterday, on my scheduled appointment date, I visited the oculoplastic clinic in the ophthalmology department at Seoul National University Hospital, which other clinics had recommended, hoping to receive treatment. They said it would be difficult for the oculoplastic side to handle. They said they do not deal with surgery for adhesion-related side effects. After being told to go here and go there, I finally ended up here, but they said they could not treat me either. So when I asked where I could go to receive treatment, they told me to hold the head director of the plastic surgery clinic that performed the surgery responsible and ask them to redo it.
That place already said things that made me lose trust, and even answered that it might recur even if they operated again. Go back there? I cannot. I came to a university hospital because I could not trust them, and now they are telling me to go back there...
Then they suggested looking into another private plastic surgery clinic, so I said I had already done that, and they said one possible method would be inserting an implant to prevent the adhesion between the eyes from recurring. But I wanted to be treated at a university hospital because I can no longer trust privately run plastic surgery clinics.
In the end, I made another appointment with the plastic surgery department at Seoul National University Hospital for early November, and today’s consultation fee was wasted again. For nothing. They tried to make me repeat the visual acuity and intraocular pressure tests that I had already done at another hospital, just according to their own procedure, so I asked whether I could please have the consultation first and managed to save the 40,000 won intraocular pressure test fee. I am furious that the consultation fee was 25,000 won.
To cool my head, I walked around Jongno 3-ga right in front of the hospital and then came home, but if this university hospital refuses to do it and abandons me, I could not shake off the depressing thought that I might ultimately have to put myself in the hands of a quack again.
Among plastic surgeons, there are too few specialists in surgery for side effects, and the clinic that caused the problem does not want to take responsibility for side effects to the end. Other clinics also avoid patients with serious side effects. Please do not get eye-widening surgery. Just do double eyelid surgery and ptosis correction.
