It was hard to narrow down other places, so I first went to two clinics. My nose had been crooked from the beginning, but I didn’t really feel any discomfort. Then at some point, I realized that compared with other people, I was less sensitive and a bit dull when it came to smelling things.. and the crooked nose started to feel like a complex..! After deciding on nose surgery and looking into it, I went to one plastic surgery clinic and learned a lot, so I’m posting to share..!!! I’ll write what I remember, so everyone who wants to use it as reference can do so. (But I hope you understand that estimates and diagnoses can differ depending on the person.)
First, I’ll talk about the common points I heard during consultations at Banana and VN.
I was told that my deviated septum was basically on the more severe side. As soon as they looked at it, they said I should go the functional route. I had a CT scan, and even I, seeing the photo for the first time, could tell that it was noticeably deviated.. They explained how to look at the cartilage, and said it was not quite S-shaped but deviated in a C-shape. For functional rhinoplasty, it would be deviated septum correction + inferior turbinate hypertrophy, so it goes in as two functional procedures. But usually, both sides are often hypertrophied, whereas in my case, strangely, only the left side was. That’s how it was explained. The deviated septum will be straightened, and a certain amount will be removed and used for nasal tip extension.
From here, the opinions differed a bit. Banana: They will use septal cartilage, but if it is insufficient, donor costal cartilage may also be used. Since my nasal bridge is on the thick side, they recommended osteotomy. VN: If the septal cartilage is insufficient, ear cartilage will also be used. Let’s raise it naturally.
Banana seemed to prefer a somewhat more glamorous feel than VN.
Postoperative care. Banana: swelling care, scar care, scar tissue care, self-care kit, sebum care VN: swelling care, scar care, separately provided items such as cream/ointment
AS period. I think both were 1 year.
CCTV. Both Banana and VN allow a guardian to observe!
Honestly, the atmosphere at both clinics was good. The consultants and doctors were friendly, and I liked their clear, straightforward explanations. They didn’t try to add this and that, and only talked about what was necessary. They even looked with a nasal endoscope, which was interesting.. I was startled, but it wasn’t uncomfortable. I was told to put down 10% as a reservation deposit and pay the remaining balance on the day of surgery, and if I wanted to cancel, to contact them in advance... Banana gives a 100% refund if you contact them one week before the surgery date, but I didn’t hear an explanation from VN I think they just said to let them know in advance
