I had square jaw surgery and a T-osteotomy together. I wanted to do square jaw and cheekbone surgery, but I didn’t do cheekbones because I heard the side effects can be severe, and the director also said it wasn’t absolutely necessary and was just an option. I had no complaints about my front chin, but the director said I absolutely had to do the chin tip. They said it might look pretty now, but if I cut the square jaw, it would become disharmonious, so the chin had to be cut together to match it. Since the cost would also go up, it felt burdensome, so I asked during the consultation with the consultant too, and they said cheekbones are optional so I could choose whether to do them or not, but I was a candidate for T-osteotomy, so I absolutely had to do it. The director seemed confident and skilled, so I trusted them and just did it.. I should have been a little more suspicious.. I think they recommended something else because the fee wouldn’t add up if I only did square jaw surgery.. After surgery, once the swelling went down, side effects showed up right away after 1-2 weeks, so I made a consultation appointment with the clinic and went. But even then they kept delaying, changing the time, and wouldn’t meet me, until they finally did. The side effects are witch’s chin phenomenon, sagging of the front chin muscles, lower teeth showing, and my original chin was pretty, but it was set back too much and became like a recessed chin. (I had a lot of complaints about my face shape, so I didn’t know my chin was that pretty, but when I look at old photos, it really was pretty. Even before plastic surgery, I heard a lot that I was pretty, so I wonder if I was too greedy. Now I have a recessed chin and sagging skin, so it’s really not good. I want to go back to the old days.. I didn’t even have that much of a protruding jaw, but for no reason I cut and set back my chin..) But they said the surgery went really well, that it wasn’t a side effect, that this was just how I originally looked, and that because I was staying depressed in my room after surgery, it looked even worse. They said it was because of swelling + scar tissue and that I had to watch it for 1-2 years. I trusted them and waited, but it’s the same. I feel like I waited for nothing and only lost time. I watched a lawyer’s YouTube video, and they said if a doctor tells you to wait, absolutely do not wait. I should have gotten a diagnosis certificate from a university hospital and left evidence too... I regret it. I also had revision consultations at other clinics, and they said setting the front chin too far back was the critical mistake. I guess that means there was no real need to do the front chin. They say I need muscle tying or an implant. But I’m too scared of an implant because of foreign-body sensation and inflammation. And since it already failed once, I’m so scared it will fail again. Also, there aren’t many places that do muscle tying.. And they said 100% improvement is difficult with muscle tying alone. If anyone knows a clinic that does muscle tying, please recommend it. I want to get a consultation. Before surgery, I should have gone around to several places for consultations, but I thought it was a famous clinic with a skilled doctor, so I only consulted at one place and did it there right away. Why did I do that.. I should have decided more carefully..
Since the clinic wouldn’t take responsibility either, I was scared and just shut myself in my room. I’m a student, so I don’t have money, and lawsuits cost a lot too. I was scared, but I’m going to try to find courage even now. It’s late, but I should do as much as I can to resolve it now. I’m going to get a diagnosis certificate from a university hospital and try things like free legal consultations too.
I really do not recommend T-osteotomy.. And any plastic surgery is irreversible (you can never go back to your original face), so I hope you decide very carefully. If you’re debating whether to do it or not, definitely don’t do it. Your original face is already pretty enough.. I hope everyone chooses carefully.
