My mom is now 2 weeks after getting face lifting surgery. After she passed her 60s, she started looking in the mirror much more often and feeling depressed, saying she thinks she really looks old now. 345 was the second hospital we consulted at, and after meeting with the director, on the way out, my mom said she did not want to go to other hospitals and just wanted to have it done here. There were still 3 places left, so I tried to persuade her to consult at all of them before deciding, but she had already made up her mind that she wanted to have it done by Director Han Gyu-nam. She said she trusted him because, during the consultation, he touched the surgical areas, explained the features of my mom's face shape, and told us which parts would improve after surgery. So she had the surgery. She had a bit of a hard time only on the first day, and from the next day she has been eating and going about daily life without difficulty. She says her face feels a bit tight, but I think that is because she is still recovering. Looking at the photos taken before surgery, the lifting effect is definitely dramatic. Also, because of asymmetry, my mom's left side of the lip had been sagging a little more, but now it is balanced. She also originally had attached earlobes congenitally, and they corrected them into a pretty shape during the surgery. I worried the surgical areas might be noticeable, but maybe because she has permed hair, they are covered by her hair and are hardly noticeable.
She is managing it by applying a thin layer of the prescribed ointment morning and evening, wearing the compression band for one to two hours at a time, then taking it off. It will differ from person to person, but they said swelling would be severe until day 3, yet my mom did not have much swelling, and she barely had any bruising either. She has not really been going out much yet, but she said neighborhood people, like the lady at the supermarket, saw her and were surprised. They said it is not very obvious and that she looks younger, hehe. So she is secretly pleased. Even to me, rather than feeling like my mom suddenly became much younger and completely changed after surgery, it is fascinating because I can see my mom's face from 10 years ago. I had been very worried too, but now I feel it was a good decision to have the surgery. There is still more recovery left, but both my mom and I are very satisfied!
