I’m 23 now, and I got orthodontic treatment as soon as I turned 20. I was worried because the clinic was big and had a lot of people, but I actually think that was a good thing. I could make appointments whenever, and it felt like everything finished quickly. My snaggle teeth were pretty severe, but I had 4 teeth extracted and finished in a year and a half. For the first half year, I wore my retainer diligently, but for the past year I’ve only worn it when I remembered. I don’t really feel like my teeth have shifted much or that the retainer doesn’t fit. In the beginning of treatment, there was pain when they tightened the wire, but other than that it was okay.
