Double-Jaw Surgery Reviews@jaw-review

5 Months After Double-Jaw Surgery

I had it done because my chin started to look more and more protruded due to mandibular prognathism. My facial bones are on the smaller side, so my mandible wasn’t that large, but it still didn’t align well with my maxilla, and my upper teeth were being pushed forward. I was told that facial asymmetry or crooked dentition could worsen later, so I had the surgery. I had surgery-first orthognathic surgery at a university hospital and was hospitalized for about a week. I had CT scans several times and then the surgical plan was made. I recovered fairly quickly and the swelling went down fast too, but while I was swollen, I was worried and wondered if I had done it for nothing. My dentition now fits well, but my overall impression also didn’t change as much as I expected. I think it’s better to do this for treatment purposes rather than cosmetic purposes.
