Review of a revision eye surgery consultation at Hani Plastic Surgery
I had partial-incision double eyelid surgery + upper epicanthoplasty 7 years ago, and my right side came undone, so 3 years ago I had revision surgery with partial incision at the same hospital. Since early this year, my left side gradually started coming undone too, making my eyes uneven, so I decided on incision and ptosis correction because of forehead wrinkles.. I thought I should look into another hospital, searched hard, and ended up getting a consultation at Hani Plastic Surgery.
First, I booked through the online website, and afterward they called me to confirm the date. Since I had booked a month in advance, they called once more about two days before to check if there were any changes. They were very kind. I booked through the website, but KakaoTalk and phone reservations are also possible. The hospital comes up after walking a little from Gangnam Station or Sinnonhyeon Station. As soon as I went up in the elevator, I saw the front desk (once you take the elevator, it goes straight there with no room to wonder where to go), and since it was my first visit, I registered on a tablet first. After sitting for a little while, I had facial photos taken, filled out a few basic details, and was guided to the consultation room. The consultant asked me a few questions based on the basic information I had filled out, and afterward I met the director and had the consultation.
At first, as soon as the director looked at my eyes, they said the left side seemed to have come undone + that my eyes looked sleepy. Those were the concerns I had, and accordingly I was recommended incision and ptosis correction. I was told that up to the second surgery, it is okay to have it done at the same hospital, but if it comes undone again and has to be done once more, from the third time onward it is better to do it at another hospital. They said it could mean I don’t match well with that hospital’s surgical style. They asked whether I was okay with the current design, and at first I said I liked it, but since I was going to do incision anyway, I thought I should mention the parts I felt were lacking, so I requested a slight change. Lowering the inner front side of the eyes a little and raising the outer side a little.. And they asked if I had any questions, but maybe because I went in with a blank mind, my head went blank at the time, and I only thought of questions after I came back home. Everyone, no matter which hospital you go to, please write down everything you want to ask and bring it with you (maybe I was the only one who didn’t..) Both the director and staff were all kind, and especially the director explained things well and had good energy. I guess I could say I felt confidence from them.
After finishing the consultation with the director, I consulted again with the consultant. I asked questions I was curious about and discussed the cost. The cost matched exactly the amount I had set as my limit, and I was satisfied with the consultation, so I booked that same day right away. Since I had also quit my job and planned to prepare for exams for a while, I thought I should do it as quickly as possible and let the swelling go down soon, so I scheduled the surgery for 3 days later and left.
I am now post-op, but since this is a consultation review, I’ll stop here. Hehe… I hope this was helpful.
