Today is day 14! I’m so, so happy with it, and since I got a lot of information from this community, I’m posting this in the hope that it helps even a little. I’m planning to write a longer post at the 1-month mark! Many people left comments on my previous and pre-previous posts, but I don’t have enough time to answer each oneㅠㅠ When I have time, I’ll definitely leave detailed replies one by one. To answer just a few comments I roughly remember in advance: I had my first nose surgery in June 2020, using 3.5 mm silicone and only ear cartilage to create rotational grafting, a columellar strut, and the nasal tip. (To project the columella a lot, even though it was a rotational graft, the columellar strut was fixed to the septal cartilage, so after about 6 months, movement side to side was fairly free, but up and down movement was not very large. This seems to be the same even now, but the director said that since less cartilage was used this time and the surgery was more reduced, the up-and-down movement should be freer than last time. And I had the silicone removal and revision surgery on 2/6 this year, at the same clinic as my first surgery. I had silicone removal + removal of ear cartilage from the nasal tip + ear cartilage re-harvested from the other ear and used to fill the nasal dorsum + lowering the nasal tip (shortening the columellar strut length) + slightly loosening the cartilage suturing. No septal cartilage was used at all, and maybe because the surgery was done without any implant? Recovery was really fast.. My sensation hasn’t completely returned yet, but the swelling is almost like 2 months after my first surgery = 2 weeks after this revision surgery. My nose also feels comfortable, but in cold weather my nose feels a little, actually quite, cold and achy..ㅠㅠ Both surgeries were done with an open approach, and since my skin/flesh heals pretty well, the director said the scar would probably remain similar to my first surgery. The scar from my first surgery was really clean; after about a year and a half, you could only see a thin white scar with a bare face if you shone a light and looked really closely. (zigzag shape) Personally, I’m not sure whether the director is great at operating according to overall facial harmony, but if the patient gives detailed requests, it seems like they operate to match all of them, and I think their surgical skill is also pretty good. This time I asked them to definitely correct my nostril asymmetry, and it’s almost even now haha. As of now I’m quite satisfied, but since I really like a natural-looking face, even though it’s only week 2, I just hope the nasal tip lowers a little more and quickly settles into my faceㅠㅠ When doing silicone removal + nasal tip revision, (actually, any nose surgery..) I really think you absolutely have to prepare detailed and accurate requests with photos, depending on the facial vibe, nose shape, angle, and the shape you want. Absolutely, if you want to succeed in one go.. I didn’t take Rizaben or any separate medication for contracture, and I asked just in case, but they kept only answering that scar tissue naturally disappears from around month 3. When I looked up scar tissue anyway, a lot of people said time is the answer, and many people said they weren’t sure whether Rizaben is actually effective. They also say it’s not good for the body... If you’re having total removal, it may be something to consider, but for people like me who are keeping the nasal tip, I personally think there’s no particular need.... They say magnesium, minerals, and vitamins are important for scar tissue, so I’m trying to take magnesium and vitamins diligently every day, and I also try to drink mineral water as much as possible when I remember haha For swelling care, I did cold compresses pretty diligently, and I slept sitting up every day..ㅜㅜ I bought the 3-piece swelling medication set + V tea and took them diligently, avoided salty and spicy foods, and above all I really walked a lot (within the range where my nose didn’t hurt). Since it’s still only week 2, I think this much is enough for now, and I’ll write in more detail at the 1-month mark!! I want to give as much information as possible!!ㅠㅜ (You can probably find the clinic where I had surgery if you look through my previous posts! It’s hard to answer each person one by oneㅠㅠ For the surgery cost, if you call the clinic, they’ll tell you right away.)
