Before <before procedure>Before <before procedure>After <after procedure>After <after procedure>Third lipo… and probably my last review for a while
Hello, I haven’t calculated it exactly, but I think it has been about three months since I had surgery at Glovi. Work is gradually getting busier, so I think it will be difficult to keep writing posts regularly, and this will probably be my last review upload for a while… Actually, aside from being busy, the more accurate reason may be that there have been no major changes, so there isn’t much to write about haha. Other than my own impressions and feelings, there are no very big changes compared with my second review.
Starting about two weeks ago, I began exercising almost every day. If there is a big change in my daily life, that is all. I became sure that my condition feels completely no different compared with before surgery, and more than anything, because I constitutionally gain weight easily, I concluded that diet alone would not be enough for management, so even though I am busy, I am forcing myself to exercise a little every day. Considering my condition at work, it seems impossible to reduce my diet below its current level, and I think I endure exercise every day with the idea of, even if I gain weight, let it gain in a toned way(?). Ah, and because I personally don’t care much, I almost forgot to write this, but the marks where the surgical cannula went in have also become very faint. I did not really treat those areas with scar laser or ointment, but they have faded enough that you can’t really tell unless you look very closely. Of course, this may be because my skin is not very pale skin where scars show easily, but it definitely seems like the size of the marks themselves is gradually shrinking too.
Rather than visible changes, I actually want to talk about one psychological change. Sometimes in liposuction reviews, there are amazing people who show such dazzling changes that anyone would be shocked, but I think those cases are something you can only achieve with the typical Korean grit of putting in painstaking effort in diet, exercise, and lifestyle habits without missing a single thing ㅠㅠ, or they may have had a constitution that doesn’t gain weight easily whether they had liposuction or not in the first place. (Actually the latter is very rare, and to achieve the kind of external slimness where anyone would say, wow~! that’s insane, the only way is probably… steady exercise, right?) Around the time my initial recovery became smooth and I posted my second review, I felt impatient because it seemed like weight was coming back as if I were going to rebound, and I wondered why the effect wasn’t better (compared with my husband,… as I mentioned, my husband also had liposuction with the same doctor at the same hospital, but compared with me, the difference is still big and he has a slim body… even though before liposuction he was so chubby he couldn’t even be compared with me haha ㅠㅠ). But I concluded that in this kind of long-term inner battle like dieting, I am the type who gives myself far more carrots than sticks. Thinking about it, my husband has still consistently maintained low carbs to a level that seems harsh after liposuction, and he was originally the type who didn’t eat snacks, so that was why.
It may also be because of the cold weather and because I couldn’t completely avoid the COVID blues, but I think I blamed myself and sometimes felt upset, wondering why I wasn’t losing an enormous amount after going through so much. In reality, because I have been busy with many things, it is not as if I truly pushed myself hard on a diet. Looking objectively at how I have actually lived, if it had been before surgery, I would have gained much more abdominal fat, not just aesthetically, but to the point where I would have had to worry slightly about breathing.
Anyway, after observing for a little under three months, I reached the conclusion that liposuction alone definitely seems effective in preventing obesity that becomes an actual physical health problem. However, to be honest and open, while watching my body shape fluctuate a little in the mirror, I also concluded that maintaining that “pretty health(?)” that includes the aesthetic aspect and personal satisfaction that people in this community, including myself, want, urgently requires one’s own effort after surgery. Since I think I wrote that a bit ambiguously, I’ll write it again: although I am still not very actively positive about plastic surgery overall, based on my experience, I want to say that liposuction is a surgery worth recommending to people who are inclined to have it done (postoperative satisfaction >>> surgical difficulty or expected side effects, of course relatively compared with other plastic surgeries). However, if your standard for satisfaction is very high, you need a lot of effort to correct your lifestyle habits by your own will even after surgery, and I want to add that liposuction surgery is a big help, but it is not the entire solution by itself.
