Reason for revision surgery: In the past, I thought only big! breasts looked pretty and were the best, so I had surgery with the largest size possible. But my own aesthetic standards changed, and above all, they looked too artificial and did not feel good to the touch, so I decided on revision surgery. But when I actually went for a consultation, they said it was a rupture. I had no choice and ended up having surgery.
Reason for choosing the hospital: Glam said they provide 1 year of aftercare. Even after that, if needed, additional support with no extra charge. I liked that point the most, and I also liked that they offer lifetime AS and that it is a hospital run by a single director who is a breast surgery specialist. I could also get an ultrasound right there without having to look for another hospital, and the consultation manager who counseled me said she had been working there for a long time (since the hospital opened). I heard that even years later, surgical patients come here to get ultrasounds, check their progress, and receive care, so it seemed like communication with the hospital is really good. Above all, the breast shape was so, so natural...... Every before-and-after photo they showed me looked so pretty and well-made that I honestly could not tell the difference from natural breasts in terms of shape, so I thought I definitely wanted to have revision surgery here! I do not think it took long to decide.
Day 1: On the day of surgery, I could not sleep properly and stayed up all night before visiting the hospital. I changed clothes, lay down on the operating table, and passed out as soon as anesthesia started. When I opened my eyes, I was in the recovery room and had bandages wrapped around me. I did not really feel that it was hard. I wondered if I had really had surgery. I thought maybe the anesthesia had not fully worn off yet. They said the capsule removal + implant replacement went well. I took a taxi home.
Day 3: Nothing felt wrong. I did not feel that it was hard. Maybe because it was revision surgery, there was some discomfort from cutting the incision again, but other than that I could use my arms well, and lying down and getting up were fine too. It was not hard at all. If anything, it felt like my sensation had come back more than before?? And I went to the hospital and had the bandages removed. The size did get slightly smaller, but the balance with my rib cage actually became better, so even on day 3 it looked much more natural.... I also feel like the subtle asymmetry on both sides was corrected.
Day 7: I neatly made pasta by myself (microwave recipe), wore fitted clothes, and visited the hospital. They checked the condition of the incision site and I received light therapy care. It was nice that I could use the massage chair while waiting. Even when I went, I did not have to say what I was there for; the desk remembered and said first, "You are here for a progress check, right?" Their response is really amazing....
Day 10 (current): Getting dressed and undressed, showering, vacuuming, doing laundry, washing dishes, going out to meet friends, taking walks, getting on and off public transportation, running across crosswalks, and so on.......... I am doing so well. Honestly, it still does not feel real that I had revision breast surgery, but when it feels the most real is when I take off all my clothes to shower and stand in front of the mirror. When I clearly see my changed breasts, that is when it really feels real, I feel satisfied, and I think this is really a woman's body. But usually I keep them covered~ and I still cannot touch them freely, so it still feels a little less real. Still, I really think I made the right choice to have revision surgery instead of removal.. (Thinking now that I briefly considered removal makes me feel dizzy. If I had removed them, I probably would have bitterly regretted it and had them put back in..)
I heard the radiofrequency and extracorporeal shockwave care here is famous, and I want to receive that soon too!! At the hospital where I first had surgery before, there was almost no aftercare... (I only received hot packs and scar laser treatment) This is my first time receiving proper care, and it feels like I am being treated so preciously, so I really like it. I now understand why everyone kept talking about aftercare aftercare, and I do not feel the surgery cost was a waste at all. I keep thinking a hundred and a thousand times that I am glad I did it here.
Everyone, whether it is revision surgery or first surgery, definitely get breast surgery at a place with good aftercare. That way, I think you will also go to the hospital regularly, and it feels worthwhile.....
This is a surgery review pursuing reconstruction.
