First, the parts that bothered me most were a hump nose + bulbous nose + short nose + low nose, and not just the front view, but especially the side view looked flat with no three-dimensionality.. My face isn't on the large side, but I hated how the bulbous nose made it look wide and spread out I'd been reading reviews for a long time, but I felt like if I kept only worrying like this, I would never do anything for the rest of my life, so I started looking into clinics first!
I went to several places, but the reasons I finally decided on this place were: 1. Lots of bulbous nose reviews 2. They have a director dedicated to noses 3. They take definite responsibility for aftercare and A/S Those three things! On top of that, I wanted a nose where the before-and-after difference was clear, but it didn't look obviously done.. You know that kind of nose that's easy to say but hard to achieve with surgery? That's exactly the kind of nose I wanted??
So while going around for consultations, I told the director that, and they said that if they corrected the bulbous nose and hump while lowering the nasolabial angle, it would likely come out pretty. They said the septal cartilage looked sufficient too, but if it was too soft once they got into the operating room, donated costal cartilage might be added.
In the end, I had 3 mm silicone inserted and the surgery was done using only septal cartilage
Oh, let me tell the story of how I spent the time from before surgery onward
Before surgery, I changed into patient clothes, washed my face, then checked one last time with the director about the nose design, how the surgery would be done, and what materials would be used, and then I lay down on the operating table (I was really scared.. I was trembling)
When I opened my eyes, the surgery was over. Right afterward, maybe because the anesthesia hadn't fully worn off, it didn't hurt much, but the feeling of my throat being dry was just so severe I filled a tumbler with a straw with water and gulped it down,, Rather than pain, it was more like, this is uncomfortable because of the splint and cotton.. and the swelling wasn't severe on the day itself.
Then the next day.. I thought if you get nose surgery, only the area around the nose swells.. but when I woke up and looked in the morning, my eyes and upper face were swollen.. At first I couldn't breathe well, so even when eating, I couldn't really taste anything, and I got by with simple foods like porridge I think it's good to prepare in advance things you can simply drink or slurp down, like porridge or Almond Breeze Still, humans adapt After a few days (I think it was right after the cotton was removed), I ate tasty food just fine..
After the splint came off, there was still a pretty generous amount of swelling, but I could clearly see that it had become smaller and sharper than my original nose! The director also touched my nose once and said the major swelling would all go down around the one-month mark, that the bridge would get slimmer from here, and that the nasal tip needed to be watched for a bit longer.
Ha.. And while getting nose surgery, I realized the convenience and preciousness of everyday life..^^ Even washing my face was immediately uncomfortable After the splint came off, it was covered in sebum and oil.. My nose was seriously a mess;; Thankfully, the clinic had separate skin care, and after receiving that, it was somewhat presentable.... When the splint comes off, it's seriously an embarrassment play That said, you should absolutely not do a nose pack by yourself or do anything that strains the nose! I recommend either going somewhere that manages sebum like I did, or looking into a dermatologist separatelyㅇㅇ
And for some small tips.. 1. Bring photos of a nose similar to what you want when you go for consultations! This was surprisingly helpful 2. Prepare foods you can eat without chewing 3. If you think sleeping sitting up will be hard, prepare a high pillow in advance If you're worried while at home, I hope you prepare in advance
Lastly, good things after surgery! 1. A smoother nasal bridge 2. The plump feeling of the nostril wings disappeared 3. My nose no longer looks short and small..^^ It also fixed the look of my mouth protruding
Now I think even the minor swelling has gone down to some extent, and I'm almost in the stable period, but I'm still being careful so I don't bump my nose into anything It would be bad if I made a mistake and ended up with inflammation...
Lastly, if I were to talk about important criteria when looking at a clinic, I think there are two: whether it's a place that can really improve the problems my nose has, and whether it's a hospital that will responsibly handle everything from surgery through aftercare!!
Don't rush it, and I hope you take your time looking into things for a long time before choosing!!
