Hi.. I’m someone who grew up hearing since I was born lol that I needed to get my nose done. After worrying about it for decades.. and because I’m originally a perfectionist, after several years of going around for consultations, I finally had surgery without an implant. First of all, thank you. Thanks to everyone’s posts, I think I chose the clinic well and filtered out the ones I should avoid. I’m seriously not exaggerating, I went there by bus with my dad today haha. I’m on my way back home now.
Originally, I went around to clinics last year planning to get silicone, but silicone really didn’t feel right, and safety was absolutely my number one priority over making it high and dramatic!!! Rather than “It’s pretty, it turned out well!”, I thought “Did you get something done?” would be better. At first I was like, huh? It doesn’t even show, why do it? But the reason I wanted to get my nose done was because I didn’t like my current nose and wanted to improve it. So my goal changed to improvement, and safety became my top priority. I absolutely do not want revision surgery, so I chose no implant!
Originally, my nasal bridge was ambiguous enough that half the clinics suggested nasal osteotomy and half said to just leave it. So since the nasal tip was more important to me than the bridge, I decided to keep contouring my bridge with shading as before. I think if I try to be 100% satisfied, the chance of getting revision surgery will definitely, definitely go up. (This is just my personal opinion.) I decided not to be too greedy. I thought that fixing what I was born with was already greedy enough, so if I gain one thing, I should let go of one thing. When I looked at people getting revision surgery, they kept telling others not to do it, saying they regretted it. And when I read posts, there were a lot of comments like “I wish I hadn’t been so greedy,” so my thoughts changed over the years.
I went with my dad, and the director really spent 15 to 20 minutes explaining everything about my nose so, so well. Truly. For the parts my dad was worried about, the director said that as someone with a child too, they understood how he must feel. It was really so sweet, seriously the first time I experienced that. I was won over and genuinely touched. So I was able to get it done safely without feeling nervous, and my dad wasn’t worried either. It went well and I came out fine. I’m going tomorrow to get the cotton packing removed.
