My mother has always originally been beautiful and had big eyes with double eyelids, but as she got older, she lost a lot of strength in opening her eyes. She looked into various places and even had consultations for a facelift, but in the end she had incisional double-eyelid surgery. I think she also had something like eye-muscle repositioning done together. First of all, one of my mother’s eyes had much weaker opening strength than the other, so she had a tendency to lift it with her eyebrow. The surgery corrected that in a way that balanced both sides, and because her double eyelids were covered by her eyelids, making her eyes look smaller and stuffy, the surgery also made the double eyelids a bit larger. During the surgery, according to my mom, the doctor said that if my mom relaxed her neck well, he could draw the double-eyelid line smoothly, but because she was very tense, one side seemed not to turn out well. She worried a lot about that, and maybe because of that, the two sides are a little different. It’s very subtle, and compared with before surgery, I think they’re much more balanced, but my mom doesn’t seem completely happy with it. There was really very little swelling, and after the bruising and things recovered, to my eyes there’s no obvious sign she had surgery, so I think it turned out well. The director originally pursues a super-natural look? He really seems to favor very natural results, so the double eyelids are thin. It seems he’s known for that style.
