<Screenshot from video on day 7, the day the splint was removed><Screenshot from video on day 9 with makeup>Before<Day 16, as the swelling went down, the overall height also came down a lot. It feels more natural>Before<Screenshot from pre-surgery video.. Compared with my forehead and chin, my radix was too low. I originally have a slight tendency toward a retruded chin, but it doesn’t even show here>Before<Front-view screenshot from pre-surgery video.><Was it day 8.. swollen nasal bridge and skin ruined because of the splint><Day 15>I was really stressed about my bulbous nose and low radix, so after thinking about it for years, I got courage after seeing someone I know get nose surgery and ended up having surgery. That person had it done at an ENT clinic, but I went to a plastic surgery clinic...
The materials were 6 mm silicone for the nasal bridge, donated costal cartilage for the nasal tip, and septal cartilage, and I had nasal bridge and nasal tip osteotomy, bulbous nose correction, and slight asymmetry correction. They said I didn’t need alar reduction, so I didn’t do it.
I’m a woman, but my overall face has a sharp and androgynous image (I have somewhat prominent brow bones), so I didn’t really prefer an overly feminine line or a masculine-looking line. I think the director created a line that suits my image well.
It’s currently day 17 after surgery, and I don’t know if it’s because I’m still not used to my own face, but it feels awkward and artificial. A few days ago, though, I met some acquaintances, and they said that if I didn’t tell them, they wouldn’t know I had it done, and that it looks natural and well done, so I felt good. But since I raised it by 6 mm, it should definitely look different;;
One acquaintance who didn’t know I had surgery saw my post-op photos and asked if I had medial epicanthoplasty because my eyes looked longer horizontally again. I honestly told them I didn’t touch my eyes and only did my nose lol Because I raised the radix area a lot, the distance between my eyes, which used to look wide, now feels more defined after surgery, so I’m satisfied. This part is honestly what I like the most.
As for the bulbous nose, maybe because my skin is on the thicker side or because of the remaining minor swelling, if you look closely it’s still a bulbous nose, but at a glance the bulbous-nose feeling is gone. I also tried wearing glasses briefly, and before, when I wore glasses, I would become someone with a huge nose, but now I don’t get that feeling.
I didn’t have much swelling from the beginning, but after removing the splint on day 7, when I first looked from the front, the nasal bridge area was very swollen, so I wondered, “I had bulbous nose surgery, but did this really improve anything?” Even so, I liked the side profile lol Maybe because I could see it had become much higher. That nasal-bridge swelling went down quickly, and the Avatar-like feeling I saw from the front or at a 45-degree angle disappeared by day 9. By around day 10, I think the swelling overall was similar to now.
It hasn’t even been a month yet, so there’s still a long way to go, but I really hope this will be my first and last surgery, and I hope I can keep it for a long, long time without blood pooling or inflammation like now.
