I didn't get any separate anesthesia, but they said anesthetic was mixed into the injection, so it didn't hurt as much as I expected, and the pain was about like getting your ears pierced. For the result, I think the best way to describe it is that I gained one thing and lost one thing. The corners of my mouth did go up, but instead of lifting the corners directly upward, they added volume with filler to the inner lip area next to the corners of my mouth, so the corners of my mouth looked relatively higher because that area sat a little lower than its original position. I'm not a doctor, so I can't say for sure, but I think that's what happened. So when I looked at my face from the side or at an angle, my mouth already stuck out a little, but it felt even more 'bulky' and protruding? People may feel differently, but to me the pros and cons of lip corner filler seem quite clear.
Still, I don't regret doing it immediately afterward, and the cost is relatively cheap compared to surgery, and there are no major side effects, so if you want to try it, I don't think it's a bad idea!
