Mandibular surgery review

I started orthodontic treatment for surgery in the summer of 2018! I’ll write about the orthodontic treatment next time. I was told by a university hospital and two local clinics, three places in total, that I didn’t need double-jaw surgery and should only have mandibular surgery, so I decided to do that. I had orthodontic treatment at a nearby local clinic and the surgery at a private clinic outside Seoul. I had the surgery in January 2020, right before COVID really broke out. I had it done at a dental hospital for treatment purposes, but... honestly, a big part of my decision to have surgery was for aesthetic reasons, so from the consultation stage I kept emphasizing that the aesthetic reasons were a big factor, but that didn’t really... I think back then I was young, so there wasn’t much feedback on my opinions. I wish they had told me something like, “To improve the part you want, you would need this kind of surgery”... Looking back, I regret that for a long time. Because I immaturely threw a high-schooler-style tantrum asking if they could shave down my chin length a bit, but there was no feedback, and then another consultant said that would have to be done with a different surgery (?) What I wanted was improvement of a protruding lower jaw + improvement of a long lower face. The protruding jaw was put back into place, but my original jawbone itself is kind of... thick and seems to protrude forward. So considering I spent 8 million won + extra, my satisfaction isn’t that high. For about a month after surgery, I wasn’t allowed to chew food, so that was kind of... hard. Also, after surgery I was hospitalized for about 2 nights and 3 days and then discharged, but on the way home after discharge, maybe because they had cut the bone and reconnected it, my face kept feeling hot (?) and flushed, and I thought I was going crazy. For about 3-5 days after discharge, I cried more because of the heat sensation than because of pain. + For about a year after surgery, while there were screws in my jaw, I kept feeling like the flesh around the screw area was sagging (?) like a bulldog, and my mom felt sorry, saying we should have just done it at a plastic surgery clinic in Seoul. Around one year after surgery, I had a simple surgery to remove the screws, and I think that cost about 2 million won! I wasn’t hospitalized and did it under sedation anesthesia. The recovery period was much shorter too, and after removing the screws, the blunt, bulldog-like bulging area went in!!
