Nose Surgery Reviews

Review of alar reduction from about 8 years ago, male

My nasal alae were a bit large, so when I wore glasses or sunglasses, I looked like I had a bulbous-looking nose, and I was dissatisfied with that. Somehow, I ended up getting alar reduction. At the time, I didn’t just get alar reduction; I also got lip reduction together.

The advantage is that aesthetically, it definitely became prettier, and I was satisfied.

The downside is that maybe the incision wasn’t done delicately enough, so scars remained. Unless someone examines closely and intently, it’s hard to tell that I had alar reduction, but if I lift my nose, the scars are visible. Also, it isn’t a major problem in daily life, but when I do strenuous exercise, my nostrils have become smaller, so I feel a little stuffy when breathing. Currently, maybe because I’ve been consistently doing weight training and cardio and my lung capacity has increased, that stuffy feeling seems to have almost disappeared. However, in the early days of exercising, I did sometimes feel stuffy enough for it to be uncomfortable.

This review is a surgery review pursuing a natural look.
