For reference, unless I'm going somewhere to hang out, I wear glasses almost 360 days a year, so after rhinoplasty I won't be able to wear glasses. With 2 weeks left, I bought Dr. Ko glasses on Naver Shopping in advance. (I just bought the cheapest glasses frame. I'll have to get lenses fitted separately anyway Everyone, just buy cheap ones too.)
The clinics I visited were Louvre, Mind, and Honesty, three places. Before going for consultations, when I vaguely looked only at reviews, all three looked good, so I was worried about what I would do if I couldn't decide after going. But after actually going to the consultations, I could decide on a clinic, but I remember being torn because of the diagnosis, so I thought my consultation information might help everyone even a little, so I'm posting it.
*Septal cartilage size First, all three places said rhinoplasty would be impossible with my septal cartilage alone. They weren't saying it vaguely. Because I liked a dramatic nose style, they said there are limits to lifting the nasal tip with only septal cartilage and ear cartilage. So they said I definitely had to choose costal cartilage when deciding on nose materials. Among the places I visited, Louvre and Mind told me to choose between autologous costal cartilage and donated costal cartilage, and Honesty said doing it with autologous costal cartilage would be much better.
*Short nose correction Honestly, even though I'd heard of hump nose or bulbous nose correction, I didn't even know short nose correction existed. When I first went for a consultation and they said, your nose is very small, noses like this are surprisingly tricky, I seriously thought it was a sales tactic.. But it wasn't just that place; the other clinics all said the same thing one after another. When I asked the consultant, I heard that there is not only short nose correction but also long nose correction too haha. So I'm saying this so everyone won't get thrown off for no reason when they go for consultations.. They say short noses are harder than long noses lol = it means I'm a tricky case..
*Even a 1 mm silicone difference is big Each clinic recommended a different silicone implant height for me, and honestly, hearing it only in words made it hard for me to estimate properly.. At least at Louvre, they drew it out and showed me by height, so I could get a bit of a feel for it, but putting a cotton swab in the nasal tip and lifting it also felt like it had some limits for getting the feel.. that kind of feeling. Anyway, I decided not to get greedier and to have surgery with 4 mm.
*The standard for “dramatic” differs by clinic When I said I wanted a dramatic surgery result, each director said different things. So when choosing a clinic, I once again felt that it's important to choose a clinic where the director's aesthetic sense matches mine. Even if I think, isn't this dramatic enough? if the director says, that's more of a natural-glamorous side, you need to go higher than that~ then the conversation is already a bit misaligned.. Even if they say that, I think it's right to get surgery at a clinic that will accept my opinion as much as possible. I also spent almost 20 minutes with the director I booked my surgery date with just because of the design.. lol I plan to talk about the design again on the day of surgery too.
*The timing for removing cotton packing and the splint differs slightly by clinic So when everyone goes for consultations, don't just simply look at your nose design. I think it's good to definitely, definitely!! check how many times you have to go to the clinic after surgery too. Even by subway, it takes at least 50 minutes from Sinnonhyeon to my house, so I made sure to check this.. If everyone also lives far from the clinic, going back and forth after surgery will be hard, so it's good to ask first.
These are about the things I felt while going around for consultations.. The clinic said I can wear regular glasses from one month after surgery, so until then I'm planning to hold out with cheap Dr. Ko glasses. My surgery is coming up soon, and if I can upload photos after the splint comes off, I'll try to upload them.. At that time, I hope everyone here tells me very honestly. Anyway, early swelling.. doesn't last until the end, right? Until then, I'm planning to keep negative thoughts down and do mind control while getting through it well.
