I had breast augmentation surgery at ㅅㄷㄹㄹ Plastic Surgery on December 2, 2020.
With Dr. ㅁ.
During the surgery, they recommended an inframammary incision,
and when they said they would make a 3 cm to 3.5 cm incision,
I thought that since I had already given birth,
and the incision didn’t seem that large,
and anyway only my husband would see it,
and they said it wouldn’t be visible unless I lifted it up,
I decided to go ahead with the surgery, believing those words.
Even before surgery, my breasts were not small.
Because I had twins, I didn’t breastfeed,
and my breasts were not sagging either. I was a 75B cup.
But as a woman, I thought it would be nice if my breasts were a little bigger, so I got a little greedy and decided to have the surgery. After the surgery, the stitched area kept swelling up like it was getting puffy. The color also gradually became redder.
Every time I went in for dressing changes and asked about it,
they kept reassuring me by saying it was healing extremely well and that it was rare to see someone with such a good recovery, so I just thought, maybe that’s right? and let it go.
But as time passed, instead of getting better,
it kept getting more and more swollen, so I asked the doctor who performed the surgery. Then
they told me to put on Cica Care silicone sheets (deflection)
No matter what I said, they just kept telling me to apply Cica Care silicone sheetsㅡㅡ
But ever since before then, this is how I had been taking care of it:
(this is after all the skin had healed. After the dressing changes ended)
I’m a perfectionist too, so I searched every cafe/community I could find,
applied Contractubex gel in the morning and let it absorb, then put on Cica Care,
and at night I applied Contractubex gel - Dermatix - Cica Care and went to sleep.
But the stitched wound kept swelling more and more, becoming hard, and the color stayed red,
like a worm And it hurts so much, like being stabbed repeatedly with a knife.
Even as of now, May 30, 2024. So I can’t wear underwear at all.
If I wear it, it hurts so much, especially along the underbust line. And even when I’m just sitting still, it itches and stings so badly
Those underboob tops that are trendy these days? Of course I wouldn’t wear them.
I have kids, so I wouldn’t wear them anyway,
but there’s a huge difference between being able to wear something but choosing not to,
and having a body that physically can’t wear it, right?
I’ve become a body that can’t even wear a bikini.
First of all, if a wire presses on it, it hurts terribly,
and I can’t even wear underwear, so what bikini are we talking about?
I’m stuck having to use nipple covers only.
And the scar is so big that it shows completely outside a bikini,
so I can’t wear one. Even bathhouses and swimming pools are out of the question. People stare at me. The scar is so large that it’s not even like I’m showing off breast surgery,
but because the inframammary scar is so big,
everything shows even without looking from below.
Seriously, everyone stares. It’s like I’m some zoo monkey. It’s that big. Going to the pool with my kids is a real trauma for me.
I even went to famous scar-treatment clinics. Among them, I went to Anseongㄹ Plastic Surgery too, and they said scar treatment would be 8 million won. The clinic said they had really never seen an inframammary incision cut this large,
and that the scar was extremely severe. And they said I’d also need radiation therapy, the kind used for cancer patients
They said that’s the only way it won’t recur And even then, it won’t become perfectly gone; they said some line will remain
I can’t believe this happened after just one bad breast surgery. The money is gone,
and the emotional pain is there too Still, it seems like Anseongㄹ Plastic Surgery is providing proper treatment.
Not long ago, I went to ㅅㄷㄹㄹ Plastic Surgery and asked about it.
I said, isn’t this way too severe? It’s been years now, and I thought it would get better as time passed, but it keeps getting worse.
Then they said they would operate.
But they said I would have to pay for it myself. And although they would do the surgery, they said I would have to get keloid injections for the rest of my life.
What kind of nonsense is that.................
People who have gotten keloid injections probably know how painful they are. No wonder people often give up even after applying anesthetic cream because it hurts so much, and now they’re saying I have to get them for life.
At Anseongㄹ Plastic Surgery, there’s none of that. One surgery plus radiation therapy, and that’s the end of scar treatment, without keloid shots or anything like that.
And I had surgery at ㅅㄷㄹㄹ Plastic Surgery and ended up with these complications, so how could I trust ㅅㄷㄹㄹ Plastic Surgery again?
So I told ㅅㄷㄹㄹ Plastic Surgery, then at least give me some kind of refund. It’s been so mentally stressful and it hurts so much. I can’t trust this clinic, and I want to get surgery at another hospital. And another hospital says it costs 8 million won, which is also too much of a burden. Then suddenly Dr. ㅁ’s expression hardened,
he told me to talk to the manager, and then went outside.
At the beginning, when I first had the surgery, he was so kind,
saying the inframammary scar wouldn’t even be visible, showing me the scar on the back of his own hand and saying it was about that level,
really almost invisible, barely there(I was stupid to believe that)
It’s really been so stressful mentally too,
and they keep saying there’s absolutely no problem on their side,
and that the problem is only with my skin.
But I’ve had many different plastic surgeries,
and even after my breast surgery,
a dog bit me and tore off a piece of flesh, so I still have a wound there, but it healed well. It’s not keloid.
I’m someone who doesn’t get keloids on any skin in the first place. I don’t get keloids anywhere, even now.
So why is there keloid only on the inframammary incision of my breasts? Is it really because of my skin that I have keloids? I truly doubt it. There are no keloids anywhere else at all, so doesn’t that make no sense?
I looked on YouTube and in papers, and they say that if surgery is done in an unhygienic environment, or if it isn’t inserted with a Keller funnel, even someone who normally doesn’t get keloids can develop them. So I’m suspicious that maybe that was the case.
The Keller funnel is expensive, they say. But doctors say that’s a matter of technique. They say each surgeon has a different method and style.....
If I had had surgery with that doctor using an axillary incision, I probably wouldn’t even be able to wear short sleeves, right? I don’t know whether this is fortunate or unfortunate....
Honestly, if it were your wife, or someone you love, or yourself who had ended up with a scar like this, could you really respond the same way?
Because of this scar, I can’t go to bathhouses or swimming pools,
I can’t wear a bikini,
I can’t even wear proper underwear because it hurts, I wake up from sleep because it feels like being stabbed with a knife,
even when I’m just lying still it itches and stabs so much,
and I don’t even want to show it to my husband because even I think it looks so disgusting. I’m really on the verge of becoming a person with no sexual desire.
I had surgery to become more beautiful, so why am I not able to be confident in front of people? Why am I shrinking back more and more, and why do I have to hide? I don’t understand.
The photos below are my current condition. Sensitive readers, please be careful. They definitely said the incision would be 3 to 3.5 cm, but it’s over 7 cm. The thickness is also just way too thick. It’s truly agonizing.
