Double-Jaw Surgery Reviews

I’m 3 months post-op from double-jaw surgery for malocclusion!!!

Before before before after after after Hello. It has already been 3 months since I had double-jaw surgery + 2 types of facial contouring (square jaw and chin), so I’m writing a review!

Since the upper grades of elementary school, my lower jaw looked more protruded than my upper jaw. I went to a dental clinic, but they said my jaw was not a case where jaw orthodontic treatment would move it back, so I didn’t get braces, but I kept living while being conscious of my jaw Even after becoming an adult, I continued to have a complex about my jaw, but double-jaw surgery is a major surgery, so I was very scared and needed time for the recovery period. I kept putting it off and off, and then I thought if I delayed any more, I would never be able to do it in my life, so I had surgery at Y Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery!

Compared to the one-month mark, once I reached the three-month mark, time felt like it passed quickly. After going back to work and daily life, the swelling went down noticeably a lot. I still feel like there is swelling around the front cheekbones and philtrum area, but they say swelling continues to go down until 6 months, so it doesn’t bother me haha I felt my recovery was on the slow side, so I bought and took red ginseng extract, took vitamins too, and put a lot of effort into recovering my health. I’m happy because I can eat more foods than I could at one month after surgery! Still, I don’t yet eat thick pork belly or tough and hard foods. I really want to eat webfoot octopus hahaha Foods cooked in broth, like shabu-shabu, or steamed foods like braised short ribs are really easy to eat! Maybe because my bite still feels awkward, eating leafy vegetables like cilantro, perilla leaves, and lettuce is actually harder. And other than it being hard during orthodontic appointments because my mouth doesn’t open very wide, everything is okay. They said I need to practice opening my mouth more. It wasn’t something I should just wait for time to fix I saw a lot of friends getting orthodontic treatment when I was young, but now that I’m doing it myself, orthodontic treatment really is a tough battle with myself.. haha My mouth does hurt from rubbing against the braces, but our bodies are fascinating and adapt quickly.. Also, a lot of food gets stuck in the braces, so I think I brush my teeth for 30 minutes each time. Since I brush more thoroughly, it may actually be a good thing haha It’s fascinating because it feels extremely itchy when I touch my jaw area, maybe because sensation is coming back. Whenever people around me say I look different, I think all the hardship was worth it haha I’ll continue to be careful and manage it diligently, and come back with the next review!

This is a surgery review pursuing natural beauty.
