Nose Surgery Reviews

Closed nasal-tip procedure (autologous cartilage)

A year and a half ago, I had surgery for a deviated septum and rhinitis, and it caused saddle-nose deformity, making my nose look slightly collapsed. I wanted to improve it, but I was hesitant to undergo revision surgery. While considering my options, I watched a YouTube video by Dr. Lee at Our Plastic Surgery and thought the unevenness might be filled without major surgery, so I booked a consultation. At the clinic, everyone from the coordinator to the doctor kindly explained everything in detail. The doctor said the unevenness could be corrected through a closed approach, and I decided to proceed. The coordinator said it would barely hurt, but honestly I did not fully believe it. I was surprised that there was much less pain than expected after surgery. I could even do light daily activities at home. I had only very slight pain around the ear on the first day, and almost no swelling. I had to wear a splint for about a week and therefore wear a mask, but the surgical marks were completely invisible with the mask, so daily life was not affected. When the splint was removed after a week, there was slight swelling in my nose, but I could take off the mask and resume daily life immediately. This was not surgery to raise the bridge or create a pretty line, but to improve the collapsed area, so it is not as smooth as typical rhinoplasty. Still, it clearly filled the uneven area I wanted corrected, and I am very satisfied.
