Before<before surgery>Before<before surgery>After<after surgery>After<after surgery>After<this is a side-by-side before-and-after surgery photo!>As you can tell from the photos, my small, East Asian-looking eyes had always been a complex of mine since I was young. They also made me look young in a not-so-good way, and I didn’t photograph well either.. haha So starting about 3 years ago, I used double-eyelid tape nonstop, and although a thin double eyelid did form, it wasn’t really a line I liked, and I still didn’t like how small my eyes were, so I finally made up my mind and got surgery!
Even when I thought about it myself, I didn’t think overly glamorous eyes would suit my image, so I mainly looked for reviews of clinics that do natural-looking results well. Among them, at Ollo, where I had my surgery, I felt the photos I saw from this private clinic specializing in eyes also looked naturally well done.
The director also checked the line multiple times, kept asking for my opinion on whether this was the line I wanted and if there was anything I wanted to avoid during surgery, and spent a long time looking at it with me! The consultation manager was super kind.. bb I’m sure no one wants revision surgery, but you never know what can happen, so I also considered the AS period important, and among the clinics I visited, this one happened to have the longest period! (Other places were 1 year, but this place was 3 years..)
I decided on the clinic pretty smoothly without much hesitation, and after a long consultation and adjustment with the director, I decided to get incisional double-eyelid surgery + fat removal + epicanthoplasty lololol. For the line, I asked for a natural in-out line that wasn’t too natural but also wasn’t too glamorous! When the director and I tried the line, it suited me the best too.. I had been using double-eyelid tape for quite a long time, and on top of that, I already had a lot of eyelid fat, but the skin was sagging because of the tape, so incision was unavoidable I had expected this to some extent before going, so I wasn’t really surprised haha. I decided to think with a lucky-Vicky mindset: if I do the surgery by incision, it’ll probably be even firmer~
But if there was one thing I was worried about, it was definitely swelling and scarring Even after setting the surgery date, I looked up reviews every day from people who had incisional surgery, roughly figuring out when the swelling starts going down little by little and when it starts looking natural, running simulations in my head every night haha.
And then, the long-awaited day of surgery.. Right after the surgery, since a double eyelid I didn’t have before suddenly appeared thickly, it did feel a little awkward, but thankfully the swelling wasn’t as bad as I had expected. (It did swell more after some time passed than immediately after surgery.) Since I also had fat removal and epicanthoplasty together, I worried about swelling more than other people.. The director also looked and said I didn’t have much swelling, and told me that once the swelling went down, the line itself looked like it would come out pretty, so I felt a bit more at ease hahaha.
I went diligently for all the care provided by the clinic and the follow-ups where the director checked me personally.. Hearing directly from the director that the swelling was going down well made me worry less too haha. I don’t know what other clinics are like, but maybe because this is a private clinic, I really felt that they paid a lot of attention to me, and I’m very satisfied because the surgical result came out well too hahaha. When I first told my parents I was getting double-eyelid surgery, they worried a lot, asking if I had really researched it properly and if it was a good place, but now they’re saying they should’ve let me do it earlier,, lololol!!
The swelling will keep going down from here, but even after about a month, it seems to settle naturally enough, so I’m writing this to say don’t worry too much,,, haha And everyone using double-eyelid tape, hurry and get double-eyelid surgery.. Even when I close my eyes, the line is clean, so I think I just need the remaining minor swelling to go down more hahaha
