I went to ㅁㅎ for a revision rhinoplasty consultation I had my nose done 12 years ago, and recently something started bulging inside my nose, so I got scared thinking the silicone was about to protrude I decided I needed revision surgery quickly and made a list of places to visit, and this was my first consultation. The desk staff and consultation manager were all kind, and after taking a CT scan, I waited about 15-20 minutes, then had a consultation with the head director for about 20? 25? minutes. They even drew pictures and held my nasal tip with their hands to roughly show how much it could be shaped. They were kind and did it very thoroughly and in detail.
They explained my current condition while looking at the CT scan, and thanks to that I finally found out what had been put into my nose and how;;;; insane;;; Thankfully, the inside of my nose wasn’t the silicone coming out. They said the silicone had moved downward and caught the cartilage, causing it to protrude. But it was my first time learning that cartilage can bulge out when it gets compressed.
Anyway, my original nose was high with a slight bulbous-tip tendency, and I had 1.3 mm silicone, cartilage tying, and something added on the columella side under the nasal silicone so it wouldn’t protrude (I didn’t know!!! The doctor 12 years ago didn’t tell me about that!!) Since I wanted an extremely natural look, we discussed keeping the silicone height the same at 1.3 mm, using autologous costal cartilage or donor rib cartilage for the columellar strut (I can choose), and since I’m doing the nasal tip anyway and want to refine the bulbous tip more, using septal cartilage or ear cartilage to raise it by 2-3 mm. When they asked what I thought the shortcomings of my nose were, I mentioned that my nostril wings spread whenever I smile and that I wanted the nasal tip’s bulbousness refined more. They didn’t recommend nostril reduction, saying it would improve if the nasal tip was raised, so I thought, oh, honest~~
