Review of alar base reduction at Unimedi Plastic Surgery (before/after & 1-month follow-up)
Before surgery -My nose looked too blunt, and when I smiled, my nostril wings felt like they spread too widely -My nose felt too big for my face Because I was stressed about this, I tried alar Botox + nasal contour injections several times I couldn't really tell if they worked, and each time was so painful that I thought I might as well just get surgery, so I started looking into it
I was too lazy to visit lots of places in person, so I searched several apps and cafes and found Unimedi, which was famous as a master of alar base reduction When I first went for a consultation, the consultant looked at my concerns + face and explained that the surgeries I needed were roughly like this~ and we talked for almost 2 hours Then I met the director and talked with him, and he did not excessively recommend surgeries that would have no effect on my face or that I did not need, and only told me exactly what was necessary. I could feel a bit of pride. I had the consultation that day and booked the surgery right away
The surgery I had was << internal and external alar base incision + internal incision columella improvement >> The price was a bit higher than I expected, about 4.5 million won
They said they do not do sleep anesthesia for alar base reduction here, so I had the surgery under local anesthesia;;;;;; But it felt like getting alar Botox, which people with chunky noses have probably had at least once, about 10 times in a row, and then the anesthetic gradually took effect, so it did not hurt. It was bearable. The surgery time was about 1.5-2 hours total? (including washing my face, taking photos, etc.) The director did everything from anesthesia to the final suturing, and after operating on one side, he let me look in the mirror and decide whether I liked it, whether I wanted more reduction, etc., which was really good. I could see why the director has pride in his work.
With this level of pain and cost, I think it is worth investing in to resolve the stress of having a chunky nose. Highly, highly, highly recommend
