In May of the year before last, I had buried-suture double eyelid surgery (in-out line), epicanthoplasty, lateral canthoplasty, and lower canthoplasty in Daegu. It’s been a little over 400 days.
I thought about going all the way to Seoul for double eyelid surgery, but at the time I was unemployed, so even traveling back and forth to Seoul felt like a pretty big expense.. I only had consultations at two places in Daegu and got it done here. The reason was simple: I liked the line they held for me, and I needed to get double eyelid surgery quickly and then find a job.. haha
Honestly, I don’t remember the exact price because my memory is really bad. I think I paid around 2.3? 2.4 million won, but I’m not sure.
First, I brought in a photo of an influencer from Instagram whose eyes looked naturally pretty, and I asked them to make mine look natural too. I thought a dramatic line wouldn’t suit my face.
But on the actual surgery day, they really tried so many different lines and heights? They held the line for me so many times, and the really, really dramatic lines made my face look kind of greasy~~
Anyway, on the day of surgery, after trying a lot of lines, I just asked for an in-out line, and they designed it for me while I kept sitting up and lying down.
(Wow, but the smell of the disinfectant? they apply to your face before surgery was not great.)
By the way, surgery is really fascinating?? My mind was totally clear, but it was so strange that only my eyes had no sensation at all. Something was going tap! tap! around my eyes and the needle was moving back and forth, but I was just thinking to myself, Wow, the needle is passing through. It doesn’t hurt, so this is fascinating lol
For the lower canthoplasty, the doctor said at the time that it would rise a bit later, so they lowered it a little excessively. At first I was really like, uh, is this really going to be okay? Now it has really risen a bit, so it looks natural. But the downside of lower canthoplasty is that the lower eyelashes are kind of, how should I put it? Like they stand up stiffly? Anyway, it was a little more uncomfortable than before? But now I don’t know anymore because I don’t really notice it. For the lateral canthoplasty, rather than opening it far backward, I had it done just slightly to open the outer corner, and the angle was lowered a bit.
And after the surgery ended, I got that eye pack? and then went to the pharmacy because they told me which scar medication to buy, so I bought that and came home. But at the time, after the surgery, my eyes were really swollen and tight. The next day I even sent a photo to my friend, and they were like, “You had buried sutures, so why are you as swollen as someone who had an incision?” lol
It took about 3 months? for the major swelling to go down. Now it’s been a year, so I think all the swelling is gone.
Anyway, I’ve been living satisfied with it. I don’t think I have any particular side effects either.
For the photos, honestly I don’t have any recent ones. My mouth protrudes, so I don’t really like taking photos,,, I only take a few when I go somewhere far to hang out.. The last 3rd and 4th photos are relatively recent, and the 4th one was taken in January this year. The first one is the photo I brought in, and the second one is my eyes before surgery and a photo taken about one or two months after surgery.
