This is my 1-month review after liposuction of the posterior upper arms, anterior upper arms, and forearms.
I had liposuction on the arms (front and back) + scapular area + bra-line fat. I’m the type to gain more weight in my upper body than my lower body, so even if I gained just a little weight, my frame looked incredibly bulky..
I think the surgery took about 2 hours, and they let me go home after confirming that I had fully woken up from anesthesia and could get home safely. In the middle, I went to the bathroom while I still hadn’t fully recovered from the anesthesia, and the nurses kept supporting me by my side and checking my condition, so I felt more at ease.
For reference, when you look at upper-arm liposuction reviews, there are people who go to work right after surgery, but from my personal experience, I recommend getting enough rest. I rested for about 3 days, including the day of surgery, and then went to work. My upper arms didn’t hurt, but since I also had the scapular and bra-line areas done, lying down in bed and getting up took a lot of time for someone living alone like me, and washing up was really hard too.
The major swelling and bruising went away in 2 weeks, and since I only had to wear the compression garment when sleeping, from day 3 onward there was no major inconvenience in daily life and it was okay. The swelling and bruising did not move down to the lower forearm area, and the swelling moved down as far as the abdomen-pelvic line. Usually it seems like it doesn’t go down this far, but this varies by person, so if you tend to swell easily, make sure to take your prescribed medication and manage it by doing about 1 hour of light aerobic exercise every day!
