Double-Jaw Surgery Reviews

3 Months After Double-Jaw Surgery

Huhuhuhuhu, this is a very late 3-month review. I had double-jaw surgery + facial contouring surgery at Yang Yundol Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Motivation for surgery Since I was young, I had been stressed about my chin, which protruded and looked long. Especially even when I took photos, they didn’t come out nicely, and I felt that I hated seeing my chin stand out. Seeing myself with low confidence and self-esteem because of my protruding, long-looking face made me decide to have double-jaw surgery.

Consultation While looking through several online cafes, I found information that Yang Yundol Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery was good, so I requested a consultation and visited the hospital. Thanks to the manager and director, who explained things kindly and thoroughly, I had the consultation comfortably. Also, seeing the hospital’s schedule, where it was difficult to book a surgery date within one or two months, made me realize it was a hospital many people trusted and visited. This especially gave me trust in the hospital, so I finally chose Yang Yundol Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

Recovery process

Day of surgery - I went to the hospital with a calm mind, but right before surgery I was extremely nervous. It wasn’t so much “what if something goes wrong,” but I think I was just very nervous because it was a major surgery. I went into the operating room, lay down, and the anesthesiologist said, “Let’s put in oo medication, a few mg,” and 1 minute later I fell asleep. At some point I woke up and the surgery was over. I think the surgery ended with me completely unconscious, to the point that I felt embarrassed for having been so nervous.

Days 1-3 – Since I had double-jaw surgery and facial contouring surgery, I stayed in the hospital for 2 nights and 3 days. The hardest thing was not pain, but nasal congestion. There was almost no pain, but my nose was completely blocked, so breathing was extremely difficult, and that was very painful. Fortunately, on day 3, the day I was discharged, about half of my nose opened up, so breathing became much easier.

Day 3-one week – I got through it by drinking foods like New Care. New Care was tastier and more filling than expected, so it wasn’t as hard as I had worried.

One week-week two - Maybe because the surgery went well and I didn’t need a wafer, the swelling went down and I spent the time comfortably while eating porridge.

Week two-one month - The swelling went down rapidly, and as the types of food I could eat increased, there was joy in eating.

One month-week 5 – Minor swelling remained, but there were no problems with daily life. I ate meat and drank alcohol too. I think sensation has almost all returned. Week 5-3 months – The swelling was almost gone. Even from the outside, there seemed to be almost no swelling. My mouth opened almost completely, and I was barely conscious of whether I had surgery. There was almost no difference from ordinary life, and from week 5 onward the feeling that I had surgery almost disappeared. At 3 months, I was living exactly the same as before surgery. 3 months-5 months - I could easily eat dried seafood as a drinking snack and started biting candies. Sensation had fully returned, and I also did intense sports like soccer and basketball. I live forgetting the fact that I had surgery on my jaw.

Report 1 month I liked that I could definitely feel the change when seen from the side. My facial features looked relatively larger, and especially my confidence and self-esteem increased. Before, I hated taking photos, but now I’m happy that I can take photos confidently. If you asked me whether I would go back to a month ago and have the surgery, I’m so satisfied that I would say I’d do it without hesitation! 3 months As the swelling went down, it definitely became more natural. I don’t feel any discomfort in daily life, and I’m enjoying school life too. I also take photos like photo booth pictures with my friends more confidently and enjoyably than before. I still have no regret about having the surgery. I gained confidence in relationships and confidence in my own appearance, so personally I think the benefit is much greater than the opportunity cost. 5 months When eating hard drinking snacks or biting candy, I barely felt any difficulty, and sensation has completely returned, so now I act without being conscious of the fact that I had surgery in daily life.

This is a surgery review pursuing natural beauty.
