Nose Surgery Reviews

My first rhinoplasty failed because I trusted the consultation alone

When I had a consultation at a plastic surgery hospital in Gangnam, I was satisfied with the consultation and thought I could trust them enough, so I decided to have surgery. My nose had been left untreated for a long time after being broken, and I also had a dorsal hump and a deviated nose. I was recommended hump reduction with osteotomy without an implant to improve these issues, and proceeded with surgery.

The plan was not to raise the nose but to correct the existing shape naturally, and the only material used was septal cartilage. I had wanted septal correction from the beginning, so I chose a hospital with an otolaryngology specialist, and also underwent septal correction and surgery for rhinitis at the same time.

However, the surgical result was different from what I expected. Even though the surgery was planned without raising the nose, the nose looked too wide overall, and the point where the bridge began looked excessively high, making it feel awkward and out of harmony with my face. At first I thought it would become natural with time, but as time passed, the curves of the nose became more apparent and my satisfaction gradually declined.

I decided on surgery because I felt sufficiently reassured during the consultation, but the actual result was different from the natural-looking nose I had expected, leaving me deeply disappointed. I realized that it is important to carefully consider not only the height or shape of the nose, but also its existing structure, history of injury, and harmony with the entire face. If you have a history of nasal fracture or are considering correction of a dorsal hump or deviated nose, please do not decide based only on the consultation. Check the surgical plan and the possible changes before making your decision
